I shopped at Costco yesterday and stopped to look over the book tables. I bought Me Before You and Year of Wonders.
Because I enjoyed On the Shores of Darkness, There Is Light: A Novel by Cordelia Strube so much, I bought Lemon and Teaching Pigs to Sing. Plus, Midwives by Chris Bohjalian, which has been on my TBR list for awhile. Three books totalling $10, with free shipping, from AbeBooks.

I am currently reading Of Love and Other Demons for the toppler and really enjoying it so I decided to buy some more books by Márquez:One Hundred Years of Solitude
Love in the Time of Cholera
Lisa wrote: "I am currently reading Of Love and Other Demons for the toppler and really enjoying it so I decided to buy some more books by Márquez:.."One Hundred Years of Solitude is a good book (I think you would enjoy, because is almost a medieval tale in the 19-20 century), but is very long and also a little barroque
Love in the Time of Cholera is a more light read, with a prose which flow like a gentle waterfall.
I loved Love in the Time of Cholera and read it three times (Twice back to back.)I have yet to finish One Hundred Years of Solitude even after a buddy read and a 2nd go at it. I keep getting lost and put it down before I get to the end. The 2nd run at it was better, but I gave it up for something else.
I still want to read the one you just finished.
I picked up Somebody tell Aunt Tillie She's Dead for free on iBooks today. Apparently, it's available for free on Kindle too.
ebooks - I bought Howl's Moving Castle and The Devil's Star and a Collector's volume of The Scarlet Pimpernel and Seven Other Stories that is not on GR. It includes audio books. I am dying to figure out how that works on my Nook Tablet. I normally listen to my audio books on my iPod.
I fought The Alchemyst today. I saw that you loved the entire series, Cherie. It was quite an endorsement.
I got Children of Earth and Sky and The Night Sister yesterday. Both were on sale with iBooks and Kindle.
My pre-order of Age of Myth came in today. Plus, I downloaded The Curse of Tenth Grave which was also released today.
I have no more credits at Audible left after downloading Lover Mine (focused on finishing the series). Good thing my membership renews this month.I also got yesterday's daily deal at Audible, The Curse of Jacob Tracy, and one of Kindle's July's deals, Roses and Rot.
I had some credits at Barnes & Noble so I picked up a new series. The Sword of Shannara
The Elfstones of Shannara
The Wishsong of Shannara
I recently just watched the show and wanted to read the books.
So far this month I've bought these for my kindle.Vienna Nocturne
Random Harvest (love the movie)
A God in Ruins
Books I've bought over the last few months:End of Watch
The Ultimate Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy
Rendezvous with Rama
Rendezvous with Rama
Complete Works of William Shakespeare
The Complete Works of Edgar Allan Poe
Cabal
Do Androids Dream of Electric Sheep?
I love Terry Brooks Shannara series. He write in the same world over different time periods. When he runs out of stories with on group he starts stories with their ancestors or descendants. I like this. Some of my series I stop because I feel the poor char has had enough. Their was a Tv series base on one of the earlier books. I had read the book almost 20 years ago. It brought back good memories. It was on MTV.Amanda (Mandy) wrote: "I had some credits at Barnes & Noble so I picked up a new series.

I bought The Murder of Roger Ackroyd for my series quest because it was the Monday Daily Deal.I also bought these for my Geo Challenge:
The Orenda
People of the Whale
A High Wind in Jamaica
Trail of Broken Wings
King of Cuba and
The Coroner's Lunch and another series started...
Lisa wrote: "Great haul, Cherie! I really loved The Orenda. I hope you enjoy it too."I hope so too, Lisa. It was the most expensive one I bought. I have been trying to keep my book purchases down. I already own so many, but they don't seem to fit anywhere. (Actually, many do, but I am on the last phase of the Geo challenge and I have already read one book where many of the others that I own fit, but are not needed any longer.)
Janice wrote: "I picked up Perdido Street Station on today's Kindle Deal."I saw that one too, but I already bought it in paperback. :)

I have a few books ahead of them.
I saw Letters from Skye on someone's review. I will be interested to hear what you think of it. I have it on my TBR list.
Cherie wrote: "I saw Letters from Skye on someone's review. I will be interested to hear what you think of it. I have it on my TBR list."I will let you know, Cherie. I'm hoping it will be good. It came up as a recommendation because I enjoyed The Guernsey Literary and Potato Peel Pie Society so hopefully it will be along those lines.
It sounds interesting, Lisa. I've added it to my wishlist.I picked up both SYNC offerings yesterday -
Fat Angie
On the Jellicoe Road
I hope you like On the Jellicoe Road, Janice. I started listening to the audio at first, but I was pretty new to audio books and could not understand what was going on. I switched to the printed version and loved it. The narrator has a wonderful voice and accent. This was one of the first books I read when I first joined the group and was working on the Rainbow Challenge. :o)
