I couldn't help it... I had to drop my current book Music of the Heart. And that is a lot to say for me. I almost NEVER drop a book. This was for the Geo-Challenge (for musical instrument), but was so... silly and pueril.
Now I'm reading Suspect, wich was rec here by Travis. So far I like it.

I'm half way through Four Past Midnight, having read two of the novellas - The Langoliers and Secret Window, Secret Garden. I started reading it Feb 5 and it's taken me almost 10 days to read half of the book - 732 pages with itty bitty font.

I'm reading The Lightkeepers. So far around 30% into it and enjoying it a lot. Not really sure if this is a spoiler or not, but read at your own risk: (view spoiler)[I'm starting to wonder if Miranda is such a reliable narrator as I thought she was at the beginning... (hide spoiler)]. Has anyone read it?

I'm also reading a middle grade novel The Last Great Adventure of the PB&J Society as an ARC. Only 4 chapters so far, but SO good! It's expected to be published in April. If anyone there has kids in the age range, take a look. It's being such a delightful read!

I'm confident these two good books I'm reading right now will help me out this kind of reading slump I'm in.

Weird - I have been noticing that my entire comment string doesn't seem to be posting, just the first part...so my comments sometimes see unfinished/odd...anyone else having the same problem?

That seems to happen when you are replying to a comment and the end of the copied text ends in the middle of some html coding.

I often copy the part I want to reply about, then hit replay, and erase the parts between the html quote marks and replace it with the part I copied. Hope that helps.

My reading has slowed down considerably because I just can't seem to be able focus as well on the written word, plus I'm knitting more. Now that I'm working on some easier knitting projects, I'm going to try listening to CDs. I ordered 2 for the toppler from our library system and hope they will get here in time.

Also, I've picked up some adult coloring books I'm itching to start. And have a cool jigsaw puzzle to do. Audiobooks for these, too!

I do that too, specially if it's a long post so is easier too follow the conversation.

Secret Window was awesome. I like a book that leaves one questioning. It would be a great one for the Outside The Box toppler if it was long enough.

Did you see the movie with Johnny Depp? I haven't, but now I'm tempted.

I finished Marina for this month's 'One Word Titles' theme. I really enjoyed it and gave it 4 stars.

Now I can turn my full attention to A Little Life.

Now that I've read the book, I think I'd be more comfortable with the movie. I found the book very tense and kept peeking ahead. It would be interesting to see how different the movie is to the book.

I think I saw it but I don't really remember it..it was quite awhile ago for me. I think it came out on DVD when I worked at Blockbuster ;) we got 5 free rentals a week mostly because our management wanted us to watch the new movies before they came out so we could tell customers about the movie. I watched a lot of movies that I probably never would have thought of renting :)

I should finish I Know Why the Caged Bird Sings today. Then I need to read Sworn to Silence for a buddy read. Finish up The Bonobo and the Atheist: In Search of Humanism Among the Primates.

I will read a little of A Little Life but most likely won't be able to finish it or get into it until after the Toppler. I took on too much this month.

I agree about that story being a good one for the toppler. Is is long enough? Yes, of COURSE I saw the movie. Would I miss a SK movie? Would I miss Johnny Depp? I thought it was very well done, and true to the story.

Ok, I'm reading the 2nd Christopher Moore book in the Grim Reaper series: Secondhand Souls.

As stated before, I wish I had read the Bloodsucking Fiends (A Love Story) first, then A Dirty Job. Major characters cross over both series and there is a chronology of events.

Here's my recommended order of reading these hilarious, LOL, thrilling, heartwarming adventures:

1. Bloodsucking Fiends (A Love Story series)
2. A Dirty Job (Grim Reaper series)
3. You Suck (A Love Story series)
4. Bite Me (A Love Story series)
5. Secondhand Souls (Grim Reaper series)

I finished The Blade Itself for the geocache and buddy read. I really liked it. Which is a relief as I own all the books in the series bar one :-) I started the novella The Butcher of Anderson Station as a filler before toppler but I've nearly finished that. So I will be starting The Last Town for the geocache challenge and to kill the series. It's shortish but I still may not get it read by the toppler.

I've started 50 Great Myths of Popular Psychology: Shattering Widespread Misconceptions about Human Behavior. It's easy and accessible reading, but so far there's not much in it that I didn't already know or read about before.

I'm reading it for the montly challenge although it wasn't my intended book. Easy to put aside in case I haven't finished when the toppler starts :)

Don't be. It makes you realize what it was like for a young black girl to grow up in the south in the 30's & 40's in segregated America. Some bad things happen to her but it moves quickly and she's learns to be a fighter. Read it.:)
