Yes! Had the exact same thought when I picked up Black Swan Green earlier this year.

I will finish The Rainbow and the Rose while I'm gone and then will likely start either The Silence of the Lambs or Lost in Translation . I'm taking my trade paperback, The Illegal "just in case".
As usual, I'm over-anticipating what I can possibly read on a 4 day weekend.

I'm going to start The Way of Kings, Part 2. It does not fit my June planning at all, but I just really want to read it.

I've got the trade paperback (signed), ebook, and audiobook. It may be a bit of overkill, but I got involved in the Kickstart campaign. All I really wanted was the audiobook, but I also didn't want to wait years for the book to be published. Michael Sullivan self published this one in order to avoid delays that would have been imposed by his publisher if he'd gone with them.

I do that too. lol I always bring too many, but I suppose its better to have too many with you than not enough. Have a great weekend!

I wanted to do that too, for the paperback, but then shipping to the Netherlands was $70. I can order the paperback from his website too, same shipping. Which is a bit weird, because I have received books from the US many times and shipping is not that high.
I'm considering getting the ebook from his website and then buy the paperback when it's out.

I started Soar an ARC middle grade novel. And I'm also ready to start this afternoon The Forgetting Time

.
I am enjoying Ashley Bell. It is not as good as some of Koontz other books. It has the feel of his Odd Tomas books. I can't quite figure what is making it only a good read not a great. It could be I love Odd Tomas. I haven't warmed to Bibi. She is an interesting char but I want Odd

I was broken hearted that freedom of the mask ends on a cliff hanger. I can't find any mention of the next book. Book 5 of the series ended on one, and now book 6. It seems weird since all the prior books could easily have been stand-alones.
I have started The Fireman and The Silence of the Lambs. Silence is for my challenge read.

This one is on my summer list for another group so I really enjoyed reading your thoughts on this one. I'm curious to see which side I fall on after I'm done. :)

That's good. I guess you have to forget about Odd and Koontz's other books when going in to it then. I like Odd too. It does sound interesting. I see it's the first of a new series. Just noticed i mistyped your name in my previous post - sorry about that.

I'll let you know!

I'm looking forward to hearing what you think of this, Mariab. I read it a few years ago and it has stayed with me ever since.

It's always nice to be surprised by a book :)

Good to know... It could be my red book (scarf, etc.) for the Geo -Ch
Sure I'll let you know how I like Forbidden!

Next up is Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix. I'm going from one phoenix (in The Fireman) to another.

Ohhhh, I may just have to get the audio book. I have the book from the library. I just haven't been able to trad it. I am still having a lot of fatigue.
I love Mulgrew. She was on a soap opera I watched, Next she was on Star Trek,Now she is in Orange is the New black. I just love her. (Sorry for going all fangirl)

I didn't really like the pacing, it started off well but I felt that it dragged in the middle section to the extent where I was having to force myself to keep reading. Also, I didn't think it was scary at all. I had heard it was but it didn't do anything for me on that front. I quite liked the writing style, although not to the extent that I like Stephen King's. I didn't hate it by any means, I gave it 3 stars (albeit a low 3 stars) but it just left me a bit cold.

That sounds fairly promising. I will add it to my wishlist. Thanks, Sarah.
