That might not seem like much, but between school full-time, trying to get into my program, and trying to finish some stories of my own, it's a reasonable goal for me.

That's a great goal! Good luck with it! :)

My goal is to read 216 books - of any length, style, or accessable to me format; it doesn't matter, as long as I can and do read them - in 2016.
I know that's a big number to most people, but considering how many books I read in 2015, I'm quite certain I can do it.

I will take care of updating lists and challenges, etc. promptly in 2016.
(I'm taking promptly to mean within 24 hours.)

Those are great goals, and the authors of the books you read will be very grateful for the reviews.

I want to read 8 books this summer
I want to use at least two author's styles of writing to improve my own
I want to try at least one new genre that I've never read before!

Thanks Victoria!
We're more than half way through the year now... How are your goals for the year coming along?
Personally, I'm more than half way done with the books I wanted to read for this year's Goodreads reading challenge (I think I'm about 20 books ahead of schedule). I've also made a bit of a dent in the number of books I had on my to-read list that I've had copies of for ages, which was my other big goal for this year. Of course, this doesn't mean my to-read list is actually shorter, since I seem to add a book as fast as I read one... Sometimes faster, Haha!
Anyway, how about you?

Hi Victoria,
I am impressed with how much you read. I would consider you a reading expert which is why I would love to pick your brain. How do you approach a book you are about to read? What gets you interested? What do you think about the moment you read the first couple of pages. Since you've read so many books, do you approach your books similarly or differently?

I have a similar approach to all books, regardless of age range or genre. If you want details, feel free to question me on my "ask the author" thingy on my author page here on Goodreads.

Not sure if this counts, but my goal is:
Get rid of six specific books that I don’t plan to read again by the end of 2017.

Yes, it counts. Good luck!

Need some inspiration? Here are a few examples of goals you might choose:
*Read >insert number here< books in 2016.
*Read all the books in >insert series name here< series by the end of 2016.
*Read >insert book title here< by the end of January 2016.
Replace the bits in between the > and < symbols with the information that's correct for your personal challenge. For example, the >insert number here< would be replaced with the number 12 if your goal is to read 12 books in 2016.
IMPORTANT NOTE:
Please bear in mind that everyone's reading speeds are different, and some people have more time to devote to reading than others. This means that some people will easily read two or more books a week, while others will only manage a book a month, for example. So don't judge others on the size of their goals compared to your own.
