Sit down everyone, I'm about to rant about my life issues and why I have been MIA for so long...

So first of all, the two jobs. I have two night jobs that take away most of my attention now. But I'm finally coping so I shouldn't be keeping me away anymore. But that was one of the reasons. Second of all, I had a huge drama with my "best friend"/roommate. So we had been noticing that she was not helping us clean, had no job, was starving herself and on top of that I had been over hearing her talking on skype with her friends and talking bad about me and how I was such a bad person and I starve her and I abuse my animals and stuff. So this led to a huge problem in the house. So we all sat down and had a household meeting. My husband was upset because my friend was talking bad about his older sister who also lives with us. My sister in law was mad because my friend was talking bad about her. And I was mad because I'm her best friend and she was talking bad about me. I confronted her about what I heard her say about me. I am not abusive to my pets. When they're bad, I put them in their carriers for 10-20 minutes as a form of time out. What she does is abusive because since she has no job or money, she can't properly feed her animals and stuff. But of course, that's her problem. I don't starve her, she starves herself because she doesn't like interacting with my family. And now I can't stand living with her. My husband in the end gave her a second chance to stay with us. I disagree with this. So does his sister. But he's more clear headed about this than I am because she has nowhere to go. So that has been happening. And we have been dealing with that because we are getting used to everything now that everything is out in the open.

And that's about it... And that's why I've been gone for so long... Sorry. It's not much of an excuse but it's why I've been gone.

I am so sorry to hear that. I wouldn't let her stay. That's shitty to be that ungrateful.

Inky Gotta love basically being called an idiot when you're trying to better yourself... =(

Inky Leela. I'm so sorry to hear. I hope everything works out. I agree with Roxanne, I wouldn't let her stay either.

Thank you both. It's been hell dealing with her. Now she's tries so hard to hang out with me but I don't want to.

I would not be putting up with her shit. I would have been telling her to be looking for a place to go because she would need to have somewhere in four weeks at the max. That is just wrong in so many ways. I have had to deal with my husband's ex-wife when things like that happened we finally cut her out of our lives because it got so stressful. But you need to make sure that she knows that one more fuck up and that she will be gone whether she has a place to stay or not.

Don't you listen to them. You are not an idiot. They are an idiot for belittling a person who is trying to do better. You are a great person and you are one that I am proud to call a friend. Do NOT let anyone get you down do you hear me!

I know right now I should be kicking her out and such. We are not that kind of people which might be making this situation worse. But as of now, we pretend she doesn't exist and she pretends we don't exist. We will be seeing how long that last.

But enough of my life problems. I am back and hopefully will stick around for a while this time. I got back into reading and watching tv shows. My husband finally convinced me to catch up on Game of Thrones. I'm not caught up yet, but I binged watched season 1 and up to episode 4 of season 2. I am really liking this show. Might I say, Daenerys is my favorite storyline so far and I hate how I'm only getting 5 minutes at a time of just her story.

Which brings me to something else. I don't know if anyone has heard me say this. I may have forgotten to mention it. I know I've said I have a dog and a cat. Almost 4 weeks ago, I adopted another kitten. Her name is Daenerys. :) She's a sweet little Calico cat. Already spayed. I adopted her from Petco (even though I don't approve of adopting from them...). She was the only female and she called out to me. I knew she was mine the moment I saw her. So I brought her home. Then I found out she had an extreme case of ear mites. :( Took her to the vet and they flushed out her ears and put her on a month long medication. So first of next month she's got another appointment to check how the mite situation is going. Then we found out also, that even though Petco says they gave her all her shots, my vets says they doubt it because all the shot are follow up injections. -.- Well, I don't regret getting her. She's a sweet heart and loves to be petted. Not so much cuddle because since she's only 14 weeks right now everything is fun and a toy. -.- Lol. My other cat didn't like her at first but now she loves her and plays with her all the time. My dog loves her too and plays with her often. Another thing we found out is... she likes to watch tv. She will literally sit in front of it once we turn it on and she will watch it the whole time we have it on. I have no idea why, so I'm assuming she likes to watch it.

Anyways, that's the end of my long story. Sorry!!!

I used to have a calico. Her name was sweetpea. I loved her to death. She was my first pet. I was so thrilled and then my uncle sold her. I was so devastated.

message 416: by [deleted user] (new)

Aw no!!!! My dad wouldn't let me have a cat cause I was hurt real bad by one. But last year I adopted a torti-Siamese mix who was a stray around my apartment. I love her so much. And then I saw my little daenyrs and thought she'd look lovely. So I have one of each!

I love my two girls. And my handsome cloud.

message 419: by Inky (new)

Inky I'm doing something scandalous. I'm donating 90% of my books. Gasps! Actually it's a good thing. I don't read them because all of my reading is done on my eReader or if I do read physical books I get them from the library. I'm trying to completely purge useless things in my room. It's been slowly driving me nuts. I would love to actually be able to use my desk for my schoolwork and not have it as a catch-all for random things I may or may not need. Ugh. Being a slight pack-rat is exhausting. Lol. The whole point of this is that I'm donating most of my physical books for others to enjoy. And I need to stop being a pack-rat. Lol.

Let's talk about this in some seriousness.

message 424: by Inky (new)

Inky I've been trying to read to escape a little but it's just not happening. Yesterday one of my dogs passed away. He was 20 years old and it was expected but it's still hard as hell to deal with it. The hardest part is seeing my other dog looking around confused trying to look for him. She seems okay right now but I know where her thoughts are. I keep thinking he's going to peek his head out the door next to me on the porch to say hi or follow me when I head into the kitchen in hopes that I'll drop some food for him to snatch up. It's going to be a hard few days...

message 425: by [deleted user] (new)

Aw, Barbara. I'm so sorry for your loss. :(

I'm so sorry Barbara. It's devastating to lose one of your furbabies even if it's somethings you're expecting. I lost my Leia last October and it was one of the hardest things I've ever gone through. It sounds like your dog had an amazing life with you. 20 years is impressive! It definitely takes some time for the other pets to adjust. Give you're girl some extra attention. Also try leaving the bed that your other dog slept on out for a while. I have some other tips too if she seems really sad and stressed. Never hesitate to msg or text me. I'm so sorry for your loss. It's losing a lifelong friend. So sad. :(

So sorry I disappeared again. My grandma was in the hospital two weeks ago. We thought it was nothing and she was coming home. July 17, as she was getting ready to be released from the hospital, she had a massive heart attack and died. July 22 was her funeral. And my family is still coping. Everything was so unexpected. Guys, I'm having one hell of a year. And I'm not sure whether to laugh it off or just sit and cry for a few hours.

We seem to have a lot of loss going on. Let us all take a moment to remember the ones that have been lost. We have all grown to be close and when one person losses someone or a pet close to them we all tend to feel it. Remember to give the ones still with you guys each day and always tell them you love them even when they are being a pain in your butt.

Megan I am going for teaching. Elementary Education to be exact.

message 443: by Inky (new)

Inky Am I crazy for wanting to try reading a book a day? I found a video on YouTube where a girl is doing that. 365 books. Obviously I'll have less than that since I'm starting in August but I'm seriously thinking about challenging myself.

Also who here has an iPhone 6s Plus? I need some advice.

message 444: by Megan (new)

Megan (ReadingRover) | 1232 comments Mod
I don't think it's that crazy of an idea. I think if you set out to do 365 in a year it's reasonable. I guess it depends on how much reading time you have and if you can devote time to it every day. If you can do one each day then that's a reasonable challenge for you. For me it's not but 365 for the whole year would be. I have days where I don't read at all then I have days where I listen to a book for 4 hours straight while I walk dogs, then another while I drive and another that I read before bed. I end up finishing 3 in a day. I definitely think it's a goal that's feasible. Go for it!!! Good luck!

message 445: by Andrea (new)

Andrea (booktasticnerd87) | 4512 comments Mod
Go for it Barbara. I think it is reasonable. There are 153 days left in the year. I don't see it being a problem. Like Megan said if you have the time and can dedicate that much time to reading it should not be a problem.

message 446: by [deleted user] (new)

You go Barbara! <3

So I just got a message here on goodreads. Do any of you remember the Nigerian Prince scam email? Where he says that he needs your help and you will get rich? Blah blah blah. Well I know a lot of people get messages like this on their emails. But I got a message like this here on goodreads. This guy, named Patrickson, messaged me about some money that has been left unclaimed and he's reaching out to get this money before its given to the state. -.- have any of you received a message like this? Be careful!
