Inky Unfortunately it's already an hour into the meeting now. Even still I don't know anybody else because I'm still trying to get my baring with all of it and cabs/ubers don't exist in my area. I did really want to go because it was going to be with the woman who kind of runs things in this area but it's whatever. Again I'm not mad at the girl who cancelled on me, life happens. I just wanted to get more information on everything. I guess it just wasn't meant to be.

There is. It doesn't seem all that impressive but I have the 30 day trial so I'm giving it a shot to see. I have a Nook Tablet (the Samsung Galaxy Tab 4) but I used my Kindle app for my library books (because OverDrive was really glitching out on me) and for whatever review books I get from NetGalley.

Inky Okay, I need some help deciding something. I know it may seem weird asking but I'm pretty sure people I know will call me crazy and such. I just want an honest, unbiased opinion.

As I've said before I started with a company that I'm excited to work for but it's slow getting income in because it's a commission thing and not a normal 9-5. I'm thinking of becoming a transcriber (where you listen to audio clips and get paid for giving it a transcript). It looks like it pays you pretty well and you can do as much or as little as you want. I currently can't get a 9-5 job or even a part-time job because the places in walking distance aren't hiring, I don't have my license (I have my permit but it's slow going), even if I did have my license I don't have a car, and the buses are few and far between in my town. As long as it's legit with doing the taxes and everything should I go for this transcribing job? Again, I know this may sound ridiculous that I'm talking about it like this but I just need some honest opinions without people telling me I'm a waste of space. I'm getting tired of relying on my parents (they have enough to deal with) and I want to be able to start getting on my feet properly. I'm sorry if this is silly... It can be deleted if it's too much or whatever, I completely understand. Thank you in advanced!!

Yeah why not? It sounds like something easy you can do at home while you're just sitting around. It's extra money. I think it's a great idea.

Leela, I am glad that you are enjoying your new job.

Barbara, next time see if she could drop you off so you could still go and see if she could pick you up or something. And you know we don't mind when you rant. We are hear for you to talk to.

message 306: by [deleted user] (new)

Thank you, Andrea! And I'm ok with Barbara's rants too! We all kind of rant to each other.

message 307: by Inky (new)

Inky Not gonna lie it's a little awkward reading 50 Shades of Grey while I'm at my Grandma's house even if it's on my phone. Lol.

message 308: by [deleted user] (new)

Omg, Barbara. XD I want to read those books but I fear.

message 309: by Megan (new)

Megan (ReadingRover) | 1232 comments Mod
Lol Barbara I know what you mean! I listened to them in the car and every once in a while I wondered if the volume was a little too high!!!

message 310: by Inky (new)

Inky What's even more amusing is I'll read fanfiction with no problem and it's only a kissing scene I came to in the book.

message 311: by Andrea (new)

Andrea (booktasticnerd87) | 4512 comments Mod
Oh My I feel the same. I feel like it's contraband and I shouldn't be reading it and I try to hide it.

message 312: by Inky (new)

Inky Normally I don't care. I honestly don't mind reading the smuttiest of smut around people but I have no idea why this book feels so taboo.

message 313: by Andrea (new)

Andrea (booktasticnerd87) | 4512 comments Mod
this is the first time I've read smut

How is everyone?

message 315: by Inky (new)

Inky Hey everyone! Again I hope it's okay to post this here and of course if it isn't please delete this post. I'm planning on placing a huge order of products from It Works (my job place) on April 1st. Because of that I want to give the opportunity to those of you who just want to try out one of products before you commit to being a Loyal Customer (unless you want to become a Loyal Customer in which case I'll gladly sign you on). You'll be able to order anything at the discounted price just this once.

http://bbilsky.myitworks.com/shop/

That's the website. You'll have to message me either on here or through my email bbilsky03@gmail.com with what you want to order or if you have any questions I'll gladly answer them.

Again if this isn't allowed please delete it, I just know some of you were interested so I wanted to give you lovely people the opportunity to take a look and possibly try something out.

I hope everyone is having a wonderful day and week!!

So I wanted to check on everyone's goodreads goal!

Are you right on schedule?
Behind? If so by how many?
Or ahead? If so by how many?
What is your goodreads goal?

My goal is 100 and I am ahead by 10.

message 317: by Roxanne (new)

Roxanne | 727 comments Mod
I am ahead, and I bumped my number up once, I may move the goal up again. I think mine is at 300 right now.

message 318: by Andrea (new)

Andrea (booktasticnerd87) | 4512 comments Mod
I am not brave enough right now to bump my number up yet. I have a trip next weekend to Florida so I am losing three days of reading and then I've got a trip at the end of May and I am losing like 14 days of reading then. So I'm just hoping to make my ahead by # of books higher.

message 319: by Ashley (new)

Ashley Glovasky (aglovasky) | 6 comments Wow my goal seems so small... Are you guys reading short YA books? My goal is 60 and so far I've done 20.

message 320: by Ashley (new)

Ashley Glovasky (aglovasky) | 6 comments I may bump it up but I'm not sure by how much.... Do you guys have an idea? I mean got says I'm 10 ahead of schedule so maybe 70? But I don't know because I'm reading mixture of short and longer books including some classics that I've never read

Ashley wrote: "Wow my goal seems so small... Are you guys reading short YA books? My goal is 60 and so far I've done 20."

All of my books have mostly been between 300 and 800 pages in my YA selection. I have also read a few short about 200 pages or less eBooks. I've listen to two audio books as well. It just depends on how well I have really been wanting to read a book that I have in my hands. Sometimes I just have to go with what feels right and if I am not feeling a book I put it down and move on to something else that usually keeps me in good reading spirits.

I'm also a Stay At Home Mom so I have a lot of time to read as well so that has a little to do with how much I can read since I spend a lot of time in the car generally my reading is done in the car or at night after the kids are in bed and my husband is playing video games.

Bump it up to 50 and when you get close you can bump it up again or leave it. Least year i exceeded mine by a lot so i thought i would start off with a larger amount.

I am thinking since my trip late May is Disney World I know I won't get reading done while there. I'll be having to much fun seeing my kids discover that we are there. Not that they have not been before it's just that we have told them we are unable to go this year so they don't think we are going even though my husband and I have totally planned and payed off the trip and they have no clue. They think we are going to see my best friend in Arkansas and her daughter.

How exciting!!!! I wouldn't get much reading done in that situation either!!!

Andrea (booktasticnerd87) | 4512 comments Mod
It's pretty exciting. We are trying really hard not to say anything. My best friend is even in on the trick. When she is on speaker phone when she has called me she'll say something that she wants to do when we come visit at the end of the school year. The kids are completely clueless.

I do plan to take a book in case I am in the passenger seat at any point and can read but I don't think I'll be letting my husband drive because I get car sick. I cannot sit in the passenger seat if someone else is driving. It totally sucks.

Plus the first day we get there we are going to have some down time because our first day in the parks is not until the day after we get there. So I may read a little then I do not know. It will depend on what our kids want to do. The oldest has an 1st and 2nd grade Honors the morning we are leaving so we are going to that and then leaving. It's only an 8 hr drive from where we live down to Disney World.

I don't have many audiobooks. The only reason I have listened to some is because my mother in law has a bunch.

I don't either but if you use the overdrive app you can check them out from your library and listen to them right on the kindle.

You can also listen to them on your phone through audible. If you know someone else who has an audible account you can share with them. My friend just showed me how. It's great because now we have a huge library between the two of us. Then you can hook it up to wherever with the aux cable like the car or just listen with headphones. Librivox has free audiobooks too. You just have to make sure you get ones with good narrators.

I want to try audio books but sometimes I just can't get into it. I get super distracted!!! But I really want to try!
