I know what you mean. I had a dog I loved so much. He had three different names but the one he went by when he died was Bubba and I was Sissy. I love that dog and I miss them to this day

Jordyn | 3 comments Losing a dog is the worst. I personally spend more time with my dogs than I do with most other people. It is like losing your best friend.

Awww 19 is amazing. You must take great care of him. Make sure you spend as much time as you can with him. I lost my dog in October and it was devastating. She was 13.

message 204: by Nicole (new)

Nicole N. (A Myriad of Books) (amyriadofbooks) I lost a dog about 6 years ago. He was only 10 1/2 but he was sick, going blind, and just in a lot of pain so the best thing for him was to put him down so he wouldn't suffer.

19 is such a long time for a dog, but it's great that you've spent so many years with him!

Now I have another dog and he reminds me so much of my old dog (same breed) that I'm just so happy because I feel like I'm honoring my old dog. :)

Aw, baby. He's up there alright. He's a little old man! <3 My pup will be 4 next month.

Everyone I am sorry for my lack of communication. I have been preparing for the bad weather that they have been predicting for a few days now. I am hunkering down right now and praying there are no tornadoes in my area. Please pray for my and safety and that of my family as this terrible weather comes through the night. We are current under a severe thu, derstorm warning and a tornado watch. I promise to answer any and all messages/comments in the order that I receive them. Now I am going to part from here for a bit and will check in with you all later as the weather has suddenly gotten very rough. Night severe weather is always hardest on us here.

Be careful Andrea. We are all thinking of you. Don't worry about us. Be safe.

message 208: by [deleted user] (new)

You all be safe, Andrea! :(

I survived the storm. 11 confirmed tornadoes across the state's the weather hit with 3 dead. For a Night Severe Weather storm that is great. It could have been a lot worse.

I'm so glad you're ok, Andrea! -mental hug-

Glad you and you're family are ok. It sounds like it was really scary out there.

message 212: by TessaMarie (new)

TessaMarie Beard Glad you are okay, hopefully you dont get any more storms soon

message 213: by Andrea (new)

Andrea (booktasticnerd87) | 4512 comments Mod
We were thinking as we were looking at the radar that they were kind of over exaggerating the storm system for our state and it turns out we were right. They admitted yesterday that they might have over exaggerated things for the storm but I think I would rather have them possibly over exaggerate than not to exaggerate enough and it be a much worse storm than predicted. We were surprised there were no reported tornadoes in Alabama that we have found out about because normally during a storm like that we have at least one or two but there were none reported. Most of the tornadoes that hit were in Louisiana or Mississippi. There was also one in Florida.

I am good and you?

message 217: by Inky (new)

Inky I'm pretty good. Annoyed with my bank but nothing I can do about it until Monday. I'm trying to enjoy the weekend by reading and getting the last stuff together to get my Etsy shop open.

Leela I hope you have fun at work!!

message 218: by [deleted user] (new)

Thank you, Barbara!

message 219: by Inky (new)

Inky Okay this may seem random but I'm nervous as hell about opening up my Etsy shop tomorrow. I've been putting it off because of my nerves but I put my foot down and I'm going to open it tomorrow. My nerves are just going crazy... Bleh... Sorry for the mini freak out. Just had to tell someone about it and you lovelies are awesome to vent to!

message 220: by Megan (new)

Megan (ReadingRover) | 1232 comments Mod
Don't be nervous! it will be fine. I had an etsy shop with a friend and it was great. I stopped doing it but the store is still doing really well.

Andrea (booktasticnerd87) | 4512 comments Mod
Barbara, what will you have in your shop and feel free to post a link.

message 222: by Inky (new)

Inky I'll post the link as soon as it opens tomorrow. It'll also be on my blog. I'll be selling crocheted and tatted bookmarks that I've made. It's starting off simple until I figure out the flow of things and then I'll start adding more stuff.

Oh I cannot wait. I want to see them. I can never have to many bookmarks. I love bookmarks. I have a collection of them.

And Miss TessaMarie sent me a card and it had a bookmark in it and I loved it. I am a book junkie and a bookmark junkie.

TessaMarie Beard Oh good you got it, if you didn't have the words translated this is what the bookmark says

Friends are like Stars, you can't always see them, but they are always there.

Okay so I'm going to post two different things in two different post.

So my first post is going to be a rant. I got an email today from a complete stranger. Part of me is upset about it and part of me is pretty mad.

I was condemned for not liking a book that they love. I was chewed out and cursed out (won't repost because I don't think it's right) but I was pretty much condemned for not liking this book. I hate that someone felt the need to email me because all of my videos do have my email address attached to them. I was just telling people my honest opinion of the book that I had read and because I did not like the book (I will not give out the name of the book either to avoid issues) I am stupid and don't know what I'm talking about (that's putting it nicely). I am sorry I didn't like the book. I really tried to but I just could not like this particular book and I love most everything I read and I loved two other books by the same author I just did not love this book.

I like. Totally cute things. If you ever put pink items up I will be asking hubby if I can buy.

So my second post:

My mom wants to start a subscription box idea dealing with books. She doesn't want to do a book box but more like a book essentials kind of box.

Example items would be: bookmarks, tea, coffee, totes, etc.

What kind of items if you were to buy one would you want to see in a box. She wants tons of suggestions.

Inky I really REALLY wish you could consider fanfiction as part of your Goodreads goal. I am in such a mood to read fanfiction lately but part of me feels like I should be forcing myself to read actual novels... Grr

message 233: by [deleted user] (new)

I understand that at a spiritual level, Barbara. XD

I have never read any fanfiction. Recommendations!

I want to say that I do NOT like the new look of the website.

message 236: by Inky (new)

Inky Andrea, I can't recommend one specific one because I've read way to many good ones. However I will say if you're just starting in the fanfiction world go to www.fanfiction.net There you'll be able to narrow your search down by the media type (tv, book, movie, etc.). Once you get into what you want you'll be able to filter down what type of story you want. On the webpage the filter button is at the top but on the mobile version the filter is at the bottom.

message 237: by Inky (new)

Inky I love a few different fanfiction websites but fanfiction.net is the easiest to navigate, especially when you're just starting on figuring out what you like to read.

Inky I'm now a Distributor for It Works! products!! Have you seen or heard stuff about the wraps to help tone up your skin? It's this company. I'm excited! (there's other great products too!)

That's awesome Barbara! I wish you much success! I am consultant with Rodan+ Fields! I think these types of jobs can get a bad wrap but they offer a lot of freedom especially in cases where you need a certain amount of pay by hour to justify working out of the home!

message 243: by [deleted user] (new)

Congrats, Barbara. I have not heard of them but I do wish you the best of luck!!!

I have heard of them. I have never tried them but I have heard of them. Best of luck and if I ever want to try I'll order from you.

So this is my second year suffering with allergies. I'm dying right now. Mucus and coughing for four days. Yuck. Anyone know anyway to ease it somehow. Besides meds. I'm taking like 3 different types of meds right now. T.T

message 246: by Andrea (new)

Andrea (booktasticnerd87) | 4512 comments Mod
I always drink hot water with lemon. It usually helps me. And since I live in Alabama where we seem to be the king/queen of allergies it works.

message 247: by [deleted user] (new)

I'm going to try that then. This is just horrible. I never in my life ever suffered from allergies. Then suddenly the last two years hit me so bad. They're horrendous!

message 248: by Andrea (new)

Andrea (booktasticnerd87) | 4512 comments Mod
Oh I have to watch my littlest. He is prone to nose bleeds from getting overly hot and his allergies/sinuses getting out of hand. I need to get his singular prescription refilled soon.

message 249: by [deleted user] (new)

Aw poor little guy. :( they really do suck. I'm going to the doctor today to see if I can get something for them myself. That and I think I finally got diabetes.

Diabetes is ewwwww.

I have hypoglycemia and that is bad enough for me to deal with.
