Looking back down surveying the area once more, she hauled herself through, landing quietly on the other side. She crouched. Her eyes adjusting to the dimly lit hallway. "Good job. Now where to?" She asked.
"I was look at that stairway over there." He said pointing to the spiralling stairwell he noticed before hand "It seems like a logical choice. I mean if we go back that way, it will probably lead us towards the main prison chamber I was kept in."
"Sounds good. Will it also take us to the Witch's place?" Asked Leora, walking steathily over to the spiral staircase and looking down. It was a long descent. She would have preferred to fly down, but, that would make more noise that she wanted.
"It might," He said waling up behind her "It might not. My best guess is yes." He took a torch from the wall and started to descend downwards "Although it could take us to another prison chamber. It may even hold the shapeshifter." His heart was beating fast in nervousness but he kept going determined to stay strong in front of Leora.
"The shifter," repeated Leora darkly, "I think Havana would be interested in interrogting him if he's there. However, if he's in cahoots with the witch, then he might have his own office instead of a cell," she said bitterly. She descended behind Alex, keeping the darkness cloaking them, and walking as silently as possible.
They had walked for a good 2 minuets before they finally reached the end to the stairwell. He opened the barley locked door to see a another cell. He looked around the darkness of the cell and saw a shape hung from the wall in chains. He lifted his torch up a bit and saw a man barley breathing hung from it. Alex recognized him immediately "Papa? PAPA!" Alex said, running forward to try and free his father.
Leora lurched forward and pulled Alex back. "Alex, honey, stop. Stop!" She said staring at the man in front of them. "You can't just drop him, look at the mechanism." She pointed to the links and chains that were connected to his father. There was an alarm attached to one, and two more that would unleash a number of weapons on the man if released. "You can't just take him down."
"But..." Alex started. The man coughed and looked up, his breathing ragged and slow. "Son." He said in a croak "You can't save me." Alex saw a tear drop from his face
"But papa.." He said struggling against Leora
"No My child. I'm already done for." He motioned his hand for Alex to take it in his. Alex did so and leaned in so he could hear his fathers words "There's something you need to know. Your mother...your mother is a witch." He tightened his grip on Alex's hand "Your mother was working with the witch who did this to our family. I need you to know..." He coughed twice and paused for a moment "Your mother hasn't gone to a good place son. I need you to know she's gone to a bad place and there's nothing you can do to save her."
Alex had tears running down his face and he buried his head in his fathers chest.
"No,NO!" He looked up to see his father's face go limp. "PAPA! PAPA! WAKE UP!" He yelled shaking his father, knowing it was probably effecting the shackles.

Leora heard the mechanisms creak first. It was a light groan, and there was a tingle of metal. She lunged forward and jerked Alex away, sheilding him with her arms wrapped around his head as the multiple blades, spikes, and mace slammed into his father. She gasped, and refused to let go of him, as she watched the blood flow. An alarm sounded, and immediately she ensure she cloaked both Alex and her.
"Sorry Alex, sorry," she said.
"Sorry Alex, sorry," she said.
Alex went limp in Leora's arms. sobbing loudly. "Just go and leave me here Leora. Havana probably needs help by now." He buried his head in his arms, refusing to move. "I wish you had never found me and I had just died instead."
Leora hugged him. "Don't say that Alex," she said, partially angry. Because of how he could think that Leora, let alone, Havana would leave him, ever. Leora didn't like getting attached to anyone who wasn't Blayke, but yet she had found company in Cassia, and now Havana and Alex. She wasn't about to let Alex think he was alone even if she found it hard to express her feelings gently or kindly. "You think I would leave you here? Are you insane? Grief-stricken or not you should know I don't leave comrades behind. I refuse to let you wish that Havana and I had never found you, nor that you wish you were died. Because that's just plain stupid. There was nothing you could do for your father."
He wiped his tear streaked face and pulled himself up a little nodded his head. He didn't really know what to say in response, nobody but his own parents ever really excepted him for who he was and even then, his father had always given some distance every now and then. He felt at peace with these angels, peace he had never felt before. "How are we going to get out of here then?" He asked her in a small and fragile voice.
Leora sighed in relief, she wasn't sure if she had been too harsh or not harsh enough. This was how she treated Blayke who was a little weak more often than not. But seeing Alex pull himself together, she could see he was strong. She patted him on the head, and held a finger to her lips. "We have to be quiet. The guards will be coming now that the alarm was set off. We're going to slip out of this prison while they're busy."
"What about the witch and the shapeshifter?" Alex asked glancing one last time at his father before he stood up and walked over to the doorway to the cell with Leora "I mean, we still have to attempt finding them. That's what we came all this way to do isn't it?" He knew he had a point that she couldn't ignore.
"Yep, once we get out of this section of the prison, we'll check the other parts quickly for the shifter. And then, we'll go to the other parts of this place," Said Leora making sure the blanket of darkness was covering them completely as the merged with the shadows.
"Ok, lets go." He started walking with Leora up the stair case again. When they were half way up Alex noticed a break in the wall. It was only small but he noticed it nonetheless. He walked up to it, dragging Leora with him. "What's this?" He asked putting his hand to the wall. He knocked on it softly, feeling the echo on the other side. "It's a secret passage." He smoothed his hand over the area of the wall, trying to find something that could open it.
Leora examined the hole. "Give me a second," she said, pressing her palm to the hole. She called up her shadow runes, and watched as they slithered off her arm along the shape of the door and into the hole. She heard clicking, and then, the following mini implosion and the door swung inwards. She grabbed Alex's arm, and dragged him through. It slammed shut behind them.
"I wonder where this leads," she said aloud.
"I wonder where this leads," she said aloud.
"I wonder too." He said and walked forward. It looked narrow from their position." I think we'll have to walk in a single file Leora." He looked behind at her and started walking forward to where the passage way lead.
Leora nodded, following behind Alex. She looked around at the narrowness. The passage dipped up ahead, and peering over Alex, she realised there was a ladder. Looking at Alex, she wondered out loud, "escape route or secret prison?"
((Shall we find the shifter here? Like as the Witch's favourite, he gets his own space?))
((Shall we find the shifter here? Like as the Witch's favourite, he gets his own space?))
((I like that idea :) ))
Alex nodded in agreement and walked ahead, a little faster to reach the ladder. He looked behind him at Leora and put his foot on the ladder and pushed himself up. He climbed it slowly seeing a faint candle light up ahead "I think it's a room." He said to Leora.

((Awesome ^.^))
"A room?" Asked Leora in a hushed whisper. Looking at Alex, she asked, "What do you see? And if there's things in there, don't let them see you." She sounded a little harsh, but it was so hard to sound normal in a hushed whisper. Though she knew Alex would be careful, she still had to remind him.

"Not anything yet but..." He moved a little further up until he could peek his head through the exit. "It's small and a little dirty but," He squinted his eyes in the dimness "It seems to be in good shape considering the Withes previous choices of accommodation." He looked over to the bed and saw a shape resting on it. He lowered is head quickly in panic, hoping nobody saw him "There's somebody in there." He spoke down to Leora.
Leora blinked, "Someone? Can you see who it is?" She asked double checking her blanket of darkness over them. She hauled it up a bit and shrouded Alex more.
"I...I don't know." Alex said, shaking his head in confusion "I can't get an exact person. It's like he's changing shape in his sleep..." Alex's eyes widened, letting the pieces fall together in his head. "It's the shapeshifter!" He whispered loudly and excitedly. "What do we do Leora?"
"The shapeshifter?" Leora whispered. This was who they had been looking for. "Damn, I guess, we should catch him as soon as possible, come down Alex," she said, stepping back to give him space.
He did so, stepping quietly back to ground level. "Are you just going to barge in there then?" He asked curious as to what she was planning.
"I don't know. But I'm thinking, if we're not subtle, he'll run. I was thinking you go up through here, and I'm going to take a detour through the darkness and catch him from above, so hopefully, you'd be a distraction, and I'd catch him, or well, depending how he moves, I'd be an ambush, and you'd catch him after distracting him, make sense?" Leora said seriously.
"I think so." He smiled in nervousness "I hope so." he put his foot on the first foot hold of the ladder. "If I don't do it right...At least I'll die a hero like my papa." He looked at her biting his lip and started climbing the ladder. The only thing that was going through his mind was what the shifter was going to say. What the shifter was going to do even.
"You'll be fine, if I let anything happen to you, Havana will murder me," said Leora before slipping into the shadows and entering the room. She positioned herself above the shifter and waited for Alex to make his move.
Alex did as he was told and made his move, knowing the shifter would see him. The shifter woke and came straight for Alex. he dodged the shifter, hoping Leora knew what she was doing.
Leora swooped with wings of darkness and landed on the shifter once Alex dodged out of the way. She pinned him hard against the ground and wrapped him in a series of darkness runes that fled off her arm. They bound the shifter like rope. She breathed. Easier than she had expected.
Alex moved out of the way so Leora could do her thing. The plan had worked better than Alex had expected and promised himself never to doubt Leora in the future. "How...How are you?" He asked nervously trying but failing to be tough. "Why are you helping the witch?" He glanced at Leora hoping to get her nod of approval.
Leora nodded, and smack the shifter in the head, highly aware that she was being brutal, but they needed answers, and they needed them quick. "Answer him," she said coldly.
The shifter knew it's appearence was changing from one tnhing after another in it's panic. It didn't like this. it didn't like being treated as some kind of animal. It could feel it's pride being dragged downwards. As if the Ocean had sucked it down. The shifter gave one last hint of rebeliance and defiance before it was forced to secumb to humiliation. It took a deeep breath and let it out stopping it's shifting to the appearence of Alex's farther. Oh yes, The shifter knew all about that little scinario. Did these lunatics really think they were the only once who knew about That mans death? They thought wrong. He smirked at the child Warlocks face. "Whats wrong boy? Feeling rather uncomfortable?" It chuckled and weezed a little at the mental strain of keeping the appearence along with the claok of darkenss the angel had upon him.
Alex froze a little speechless. All he wanted to do was hurt this creature. Kill it even. He couldn't though. He had a job to do and couldn't let his feelings get in the way.

"Alex..." Leora's voice was steady. Her eyes were blazing furiously shifting to darkness and back to normal. "Don't look. Don't be manipulated." She squeezed the shifter harder with the cloak of darkness, the ribbons bounding it, squeezing tighter as she commanded it.
The shifter choked and wheezed a little more at the tight hold the angel had on it. It struggled to maintain it's form but gave up letting it's true figure reveal itself. The shifter wasn't pretty. In fact, it was more foul and disgusting than imagined. Alex turned away at the repulsiveness of it's figure. "Just tell us." He said simply.
The shifter glared at them both and poke. "The witch needs me as I need her. I need her as need recommends me to use her. As her need uses me. She wants evil. She will get evil." It said, speaking in riddled terms.

Leora, annoyed, just squeezed tighter. Pretty much, did she want to kill this guy? Probably, except she only squeezed tighter because well she was repulsed. "Speak in straight lines shifter! I don't want to hear riddles. If you want to live - in some form or another - start speaking."
the shifter gasped in pain and gave in completely "I do her Bidding and she does mine. Her bidding though is of evil origin. She wishes to rule what is all evil through me and the appearances of Lucifer. "I on the other hand...I wish to be normal. She can give me that." It said in a quick rush of words.
Leora frowned, "she wants to rule over the appearances of Lucifer? Why would she want to do that?" She snarled, not letting up on her grip.
"You would have to ask her that yourself." He looked past them at the opening the the room a the witch came up along with some of her guards.
Alex looked between them all in panic and glanced at Leora. "Leora..." He said slowly unsure what to do or say.The wasn't good. Wasn't good at all.

"Oh shit," Leora muttered though she didn't move. She just eyed the the witch and the guards with her guard up. Her eyes shifted to Alex, shoot! she thought. She thought desperately not that he would hear her, stay hidden! Or something, pretend you're a ghost, don't let her see you! Damn, she really wished he could hear her.
Looking at the witch, she wondered which would be better, provoke the witch or not?

"The witch glared at Leora, not seeing Alex through the cloak of darkness that surrounded him. She walked forward slowly and dangerously, making it hard to decipher how she would go about this. "I've been waiting for you...but please, prey tell, where is my beloved prize and precious?" She chuckled softly. "Mmmm, that's right she's gone night night." One of the guards stepped forward throwing Havana's limp body on the ground. Of course she wasn't dead, that was impossible, but she practically should have been.
Alex wanted to run to her and see if she was all right but he knew he couldn't.

Leora froze at the sight of Havana unconscious on the ground. She wasn't dead. She absolutely wasn't dead. Leora thought in her head. Then she thought, well if she was, then everything she has been through up til now would be a waste of time. Looking up at the Witch, she snarled, "What did you do to her?"
She laughed coldly "Lets just say, she'll have the appearance and emotions of being dead until I snap fingers." She bent down next to Havana and stroked her face with her nails that were more like talons, leaving bloody scratch marks along her cheek in their wake. "Such a beautiful creature she is. I'll enjoy eating the meat of her divine bones." She looked up at Leora "That is what the marvellous book of Enoch read isn't it? Consume the flavour of a divine and you become one yourself?" The witch bent down and licked the blood of Havana's cheek. "Mmm, I can just taste her power." She spoke softly, licking her lips.
Shadows of darkness slapped the witch's face. "Don't touch here!" Leora growled, her grip tightening around the shifter's throat. "I highly doubt that Havana's diviness will make you divine. Maybe make you a divine mess of ugliness, sure, but divine? Hardly," she said with a dry laugh that was meant for stalling.
The shifter, through all its suffocation passed out cold, going limp within the darkness and shadows that were formed through Leora's will. The witch looked up from Havana and smirked, feeling the Darkness. You cannot hurt me with darkness if I am already dark my dear." She looked over at the shifter and snarled. "You were always weak and worthless anyway you thing." She stood up and snapped her fingers, an indication for the guards to take Havana's body away.
Alex couldn't handle it anymore, he broke free of Leora's hold and ran towards Havana, trying to stop them.

"Uh, damn it," said Leora, letting go of the Shifter, since he was useless unconscious now and leapt up, also running towards Havana. But she had to always keep an eye on Alex. Who would she reach first? And what would the witch do to Alex now that he'd revealed himself? Leora panicked inside, her mind working furiously to work up a plan.
((haha, I just realized I anciently called the witch 'queen' lol, I fixed that though ;) ))
The witch let the guards walk through the exit eith Havana before blocking it off to Alex. "Well, well little warlock. I was expecting you to be here." She looked over to Leora and smirked in amusement at her panicked expression "There, there." She said softly grabbing Alex's arms in a tight grip, leaving wounds as the talons dug in. "I expect you won't have a happily ever after this time ha?" She yanked him forward and put a talon to his throat. " I feel stronger already after tasting her blood."

((Lols it's okay, I knew who you meant ;P))
Leora reached Alex and jerked him away from the Witch, though, the witch's ugly talon probably left marks on his arm only and hopefully not his neck. Leora said a silently apology and snarled, "get your filthy hands off him, witch." Being outnumbered totally sucked, but hey, she was a recently fallen Angel, Leora figured, she could somehow manage to get out of this.
