I know he's too old to play him, but I always picture Jackson to look like Lucas Till. I think he would be a pretty good actor to play Jackson.
He looks quite good for JacksonI hate the idea of a MSTV film but this discussion will be quite cool!!!
Yeah, I agree that a film wouldn't be that good. Book-to-film adaptions are always pretty rubbish in my opinion, because they can never match your imagination when you're reading the book, but, yeah, I thought it would be quite cool to imagine and discuss what a movie might be like. If they did make a movie I wouldn't watch it though. I also read on this website that with all the vampire-themed movies and TV series out there at the moment a MSTV film wouldn't be very likely. (Yay!)
OK, I had an idea for who might play Olivia and Ivy:For Olivia: Ariana Grande (when she had brown hair)
For Ivy: Elizabeth Gillies (her paleness and dark hair just make me think she would make a great Ivy)
Again, these two are too old (and do you think it should be the same actress?) but they strongly remind me of the Olivia and Ivy I see in my imagination. :)

This is Ariana Grande (suggested for Olivia)

Elizabeth Gillies - maybe she would be Ivy without the smile ;)
Hi Emy!! I put some photos above. (It was a bit of a test as I've never done it before.) They won't show up if you're on a tablet or mobile device. If you want to know what the actors look like why not google their names and looks at the pictures there? :D
Also I'm sure Daisy will tell you who they are (mainly because I haven't a clue!)
All of them are just actors I thought looked good for the characters. They may have been in other things but I know them from . . . Victorious (it's on Nickelodeon I think)for Ariana Grande and Elizabeth Gillies.
And Hannah Montana Movie for Lucas Till (I think he was also in one of Taylor Swift's music videos...?).

Hi! Thanks, Sophie, for the advice, and I'm on a computer.

ok
Okay, random thought. What do you guys think of Richard Armitage as Charles Vega, Ivy and Olivia's dad. He's not perfect but I think he could pull off that feeling of looking young but actually being hundreds of years old. :P
My first thought was WHAT NO! But now you showed me a picture I think he could do quite well :) Loved him in Robin Hood
Oh, and, I agree with you Sophie, he was great in Robin Hood. The hair in series 3 was kind of embarrassing though... lol.
I'm thinking Sir Ian Mckellen might be good for Count Lazar (Ivy and Olivia's grandfather). Here he is:
1. Who would you want to play the characters?2. TV or movie?
3. What scene would you most look forward to? (If it's a spoiler, please indicate which book and hide it under a cut.)
4. Should it be silly, serious, or both?
5. What kind of sound track?
6. Should Sienna Mercer help work on the script?
These are just some thoughts I'm curious about. What do you guys think? (Copied and pasted from the double topic.)
1. Already put some actors above but that was ages ago - will try and think of some more!2. I think a TV show would work well. They've already got plenty of storylines in the books to use. Like 3 or 4 episodes per book might be cool, with some bigger storylines spanning an entire series and extra short ones in each episode, you know. Trying to stuff it all into a movie or cutting tons out would cause it to be too different to the books, I think.
3. This is a cop-out answer, but I can think of so many scenes I love! Seeing the twins switch I guess would be my answer - I think that'd be a really cute scene.
4. I'd say humorous and fun, with some more serious 'ohmygosh how are they gonna get out of this' kinda moments... does that make sense? :P
5. Ooh, cool upbeat guitar songs, like you usually hear in teen TV shows, for the more casual scenes, with some rock and classic spooky vamp-style organ tunes for the more dark and tense scenes.
6. YES of course. They should try to keep the script and story as close to the books as possible.
These are great questions, Sage! I'm actually really getting into this idea now! Excited to hear what you guys answer to the questions. Here's another one that might be interesting to talk about:
7. What settings from the books would you be excited to see on screen?
OK, so I've been thinking about actors who could theoretically play characters from MSTV in an adaptation. As always for the characters who are like 13-14 the actors should be a lot younger than they are, so we'll just have to use our imagination! If you don't know who these people are just Google them because, as you can see clearly from above, I'm hopeless at this putting photos into comments business!Sophia - Michelle Trachtenberg (with darker hair I can really imagine her as one of the vamps. She does look really similar to the actress I suggested for Ivy, but I'm wondering whether she'd be better as Ivy and Elizabeth Gillies would be better as Sophia...?)
Holly (from Stake Out {MSTV #12}) - Amanda Seyfried (I remember Holly being described as having strawberry blond hair and for some reason I always think of Amanda Seyfried whenever anyone says that, so she might be a good fit)
Countess Lazar (Ivy and Olivia's grandmother) - Julie Andrews (She doesn't look that similar to how I imagine the Countess but she played the grandmother in the Princess Diaries movies and did a great job of that - I think she'd be good for the Countess because she can act quite regal and strict but is also kind like the Countess is)
So yeah, that's just a couple of ideas I had - what d'you guys think? I still don't have a clue who could play Brendan. Any ideas?
1. I'm terrible at fan casting but I like all of your ideas so far Daisy! There should be a more diverse cast though, apart from Reiko are any of the other characters ethnicity's, races or backgrounds mentioned? Maybe Logan Lerman for Brendan, with longer hair and Brendan's stlyle? (I have literally no idea, like I said I'm terrible at fan casting)2. This is a hard one, I guess TV show would work better because there are so many plot lines throughout the series that it would work quite well for a TV show. 2 or 3 episodes a book maybe? (though I really don't want it to be adapted ever, just saying!)
3. In Lucky Break there are quite a few scenes which could work out really well in a TV show, spoilers if you haven't read Lucky Break ---> (view spoiler)
4. I agree with Daisy, a mix of silly and serious would work well. Mostly fun with moments (like the storm scene I mentioned above) that would be more dramatic.
5. Can I say Daisy's answer again? lol.
6. If Sienna Mercer was up for it, it's always great to have the author involved in the adaptation.
7. The vampire shops I think! The secret places around Franklin Grove could turn out very interesting.
Ooh, I think Logan Lerman could be really good as Brendan, if he adopted a gothic look. Great idea! No, I don't remember any diverse ethnicities being mentioned. But that could easily be changed in a screen adaptation.I love your answer to question 7 - the secret vamp places would be really cool to see. I'd love to see the Lazar manor and royal palace in Transylvania from Love Bites (MSTV #6). I've always loved the exotic posh locations in that book.

This is purely for fun because there has been no official plans for a movie or TV series, so just use your imagination!
In this discussion we could . . .
Talk about if you think MSTV would be good as a movie or TV series and if it should be one movie per book or five episodes per book etc.
Recommend actors/actresses we think could be good playing particular characters and places where Franklin Grove or other places mentioned in the books (like the Lazar Mansion) could be set.
Discuss whether it will/should ever become a movie or TV series, and much more!
Please remember that we DO allow spoilers here, so if you haven't finished the series as it is so far, you might want to be careful. Thanks and have fun!
