I finished reading Death Masks (The Dresden Files, #5) by Jim Butcher and LOVED IT! This story was excellent of course, but what I kept thinking while I read this book is that they should take this whole series and reverse all the genders. Harry should be a girl and Susan and Murphy should be guys. And she should be played by Jennifer Lawrence. I think she could play a female Harry Dresden, random thoughts but I would pay money to see that.

Thanks for letting me know! I'll be looking forward to reading it in the next couple of months. Can't wait to hear what you think of Ill Wind. I really loved this series, though I would get frustrated with it and the characters. But it was just so much fun to read!

Kai (kaileigh) | 77 comments Hi Dee,
Thank you for the great picks. Read Aphrodites Kiss and it was ok but did not enjoy it as much as I expected. I did read Definitely, maybe in love and When Lightning Strikes and I absolutely loved them found them very diffucult to put down. Thank you for recommending them xxx

Elizabeth (elizabeth_greece) | 1918 comments Hi Skandia,
I've finished listening to my first pick, Skinwalker (Jane Yellowrock, #1) by Faith Hunter and I truly enjoyed it, although there wasn't any romance aspect! I'll definately continue this series! Thanks for introducing me to this author and series!

message 259: by Carla (new)

Carla (carlacollette) | 347 comments Alexis--I just finished my first PIFM book this month, Until There Was You by Kristan Higgins and really liked it. I've been on quite a Kristan Higgins kick lately, so it was great to read another one. Thanks for the recommendation.

message 260: by Amy J. (new)

Amy J. | 349 comments I finished my first book: The Summerhouse. Overall, I gave it three stars. I liked the middle and the ending, but thought the start was a real bore. I'm glad I persisted though. I've had this book on Mt. TBR for a long time.

message 261: by Daffodil (new)

Daffodil (daffodil--ripcranberry) | 1058 comments Hi MountainKat,

I finished Law Man (Dream Man, #3) by Kristen Ashley and loved it. One more book in this particular series and then I'm not sure which way to go, but I'll definitely be picking up more of Kristen Ashley's books.

In the meantime, I started Wicked Deeds on a Winter's Night (Immortals After Dark, #4) by Kresley Cole and it is going so much better than book 3.

no problem Kaileigh, i'm glad you enjoyed them! I read the entire Brenda Novak series in the space of about 3 months, so now I have to wait for the new ones to come out (although the most recent one was disappointing)

message 263: by Dee (new)

Dee (austhokie) | 7316 comments hi Ella -
I finished up This Is Who I Am the other day (and then read the next book in the series as well) - Thanks for recommending it - Its been loiting on Mt TBR for too long! I loved Sam/Linda - been looking forward to Sam's story for a while and Cherise managed to make me all twisty inside ;)

~KarenH~ | 11338 comments Hi, ~Leslie~!

I finished Ill Wind a few days ago, and finally managed to get back here to post. I liked it enough that I'm sure I'll continue the series at some point, but not so much that I feel the need to jump right into the next book. I really enjoyed the whole concept though, quite different from anything I've read recently. I'm planning on getting to at least two more picks by the end of the month, and maybe more if I can fit them in. Thanks for the great recommedations!

Hina (hinaj) | 2581 comments Hi Fran,

I got a chance to read He Loves Lucy by Susan Donovan last week. A great light-hearted book for sure. 4 Stars! Thanks for the recommendation.

Jamie Barnett | 6 comments Gia,
Thank you, thank you. I know we are only half way through May so I plan to round out most of your recommendations.
Quick update, you recommended Rock Me (book 2) in the Ross Brothers series. As a major series reader, I had to read all four. I will go back and read the novellas later. All were good. As you recommended Rock Me was my favorite of four.
Unleashed (Ross Siblings, #1) by Cherrie Lynn Rock Me (Ross Siblings, #2) by Cherrie Lynn Leave Me Breathless (Ross Siblings, #3) by Cherrie Lynn Take Me On (Ross Siblings, #4) by Cherrie Lynn

Nancy H | 1111 comments Erin,
I have finished three more of your picks, and they were all really good:
The Land of Mango Sunsets by Dorothea Benton Frank Your Scandalous Ways (Fallen Women, #1) by Loretta Chase Murder on St. Mark's Place (Gaslight Mystery, #2) by Victoria Thompson

That means I have finished 4 for the month so far, which is a record for recent months. I'm glad I have had some extra reading time!

I have two more started and will see if I can get them done soon. You had great picks for me - thank you so much!

message 270: by KarenF (new)

KarenF (cleocleveland) | 1099 comments Hi Suzanne,

I'm glad you liked the Harry Dresden book. I'm eagerly counting down to May 27 and the new one!

So far I've read Purity in Death (In Death, #15) by J.D. Robb Nice Girls Don't Bite Their Neighbors (Jane Jameson, #4) by Molly Harper & Death's Rival (Jane Yellowrock, #5) by Faith Hunter . I enjoyed them all and they're all from series I've been neglecting a bit so it's good to get back to them.

I also finished listening to The Sugar Queen by Sarah Addison Allen . I haven't read a Sarah Addison Allen book in a while either and it was good to get back to.

I might get to some more so thanks again for the awesome picks!

Daffodil (daffodil--ripcranberry) | 1058 comments MountainKat,

I finished Wicked Deeds on a Winter's Night (Immortals After Dark, #4) by Kresley Cole a couple nights ago. I've liked the other books in this series well enough, but this one really grabbed my attention. I found the first 6 books really cheap, 3.99 each, and Wicked Deeds is the first one to make me think I'll probably go beyond the 6. Thanks for pushing me to read this one.

I started Into the Crossfire (Protectors, #1) by Lisa Marie Rice yesterday.

I finished reading Married By Morning by Lisa Kleypas and gave it *****! I agree that it was the funniest of the books so far. The two main characters have fought so much throughout the series but now they need each other in more ways than one. It was interesting to read about the back stories of these two. Definately 5 stars!

Married By Morning (The Hathaways, #4) by Lisa Kleypas

message 274: by KarenF (new)

KarenF (cleocleveland) | 1099 comments Glad you liked it Suzanne. It's definitely a favorite. I love the all the Hathaways. And I was excited to see the Lisa Kleypas is planning to write a new historical series.

So far I finished Dreaming of You (Gamblers, #2) by Lisa Kleypas and Serpent's Kiss (Elder Races, #3) by Thea Harrison and they were both solid 4 star reads.

There are many other good books on the list as well and I'll probably read at least one or two more.

message 282: by Penney (new)

Penney (pschoener) | 3553 comments Hi Pam, I finished That Summer in Cornwall by Ciji Ware today but unfortunately it was a huge disappointment. It's sad because I enjoyed the first book, this one however was not written well at all. C'est la vie. I'll be giving Crazy Little Thing Called Love a try next. Hopefully I'll have better luck there.
Thanks for helping me check it off my list though :-)

I finished Inside Out (Brown Siblings, #3) by Lauren Dane this morning and loved it. I think I'm going to have to go ahead and buy the next one in trade size, I can't wait for it to come out in MMP. :)

I'll probably read Kinked (Elder Races, #6) by Thea Harrison next, but I'm not sure when I'll start it. I have to finish my Bookshelf Bingo book first.

message 291: by Alexis (new)

Alexis (stayathomereader) | 17 comments Hey Nancy H I finished my first pick of Some Like it Royal it was a really quick and enjoyable read. It actually reminded me a lot of My Fair Lady which is my favorite musical. I needed something fun and lighthearted and this book did the trick! Thank you so much! I'll try to read more. Grace | 1728 comments Hi Runnell!

I finished Big Furry Deal (Ridgeville, #8) by Celia Kyle and really enjoyed. Now I just have to patiently for the next book. I'm not sure if I'll be able to read another book this month, but I'm going to try.

message 299: by Nichole (new)

Nichole | 1010 comments Hi Diane~Firefly~, I've finished 2 books so far this month and will finish a third tonight. I have some books on reserve at the library but everyone else wanted to read them this month too and it's taking forever!

Stolen (Women of the Otherworld, #2) by Kelley Armstrong - 3.5 stars. I think the narrator might have hindered my enjoyment a little. I hated her voice for Clay!

Animal Magnetism (Animal Magnetism, #1) by Jill Shalvis - 3 stars. Cute with lots of sexy times but not as good as her Lucky Harbor series. Still, I would like to get to the rest of them. I loved the animals!

Clean Sweep (Innkeeper Chronicles #1) by Ilona Andrews - I'll finish this tonight! I know it will be at least 4 stars. It's original and I'm loving it.

I'm sure I'll be able to get at least one more in before the end of the month. Thanks!
