SOLVED. Children's - Running Away - Peanut Butter & Jellyfish

This is a dimly remembered childhood book, so I apologize for the vagueness. I was born in 1972 and starting reading when I was 4, so I would guess I was reading this around 1977-78.

The characters are all animals. The main character is a slightly unusual animal (not a cat, bear, dog, etc>) - maybe an aardvark or an anteater. He (I'm pretty sure it's a he) gets mad at mom and announces that he is running away - maybe to find a new mother. Mom packs him a lunch. :) Lunch was a peanut butter and jellyfish sandwich. That I remember distinctly (I will be so sad it that's not real). I believe he carried his lunch in a kerchief tied to the end of a stick, hobo-style

He wanders around the swamp(?) - maybe forest or village and visits other homes. Each mother is not quite right for him and eventually he realizes his mom is best and goes home.

I seem to remember a large two-page illustration of the swamp(?) which was a map showing the path all around the area and the different homes he went to.

This was more than a picture book, but I don't think it had actual chapters yet. I'm thinking it was at that one or two sentences a page level.

Ahhhh! Nevermind! I located it myself whilst continuing to quest. In case anyone else is looking - it is definitely Runaway Marie Louise and she was a mongoose!
