I admit I'm getting anxious to see it. Though in the meantime I am researching books for the 2021 ATY challenge, so there is that! :)
I joined late in 2020 so I'm unsure how this worked. I really liked that the group picked 12 categories and selected a book for each. Will that be done again this year and if so when are those decided/announced/voted on?

The list came out so late this year, we didn't think we had time for the group to decide on all twelve categories, because that process takes several weeks. The mods chose a category for January (fresh start!) and the voting for that book has started over in the polls. We also laid out categories for other months, see the weekly check-in post for this week. https://www.goodreads.com/topic/show/... And there is a vote for which other categories to use for remaining months, open in the poll now. Vote for your favorite, and the top categories will be used.
Hi, I have a technical issue. I signed up for the challenge on the group page, and my shelf has been created. I took care to apply the tag to all the books I read for the challenge, and the corresponding shelf is at 47 books, but when I come to the group home page it only shows 45. Anyone knows how to fix it? It annoys me lol

I'm not sure! Are all the books on your challenge shelf also tagged as Read?
Also, check to see that it's not a problem with different editions - the Goodreads bot can get confused by that. Go to your My Books > Find Duplicates to make sure all your titles are properly synched.
I have a question about the amount of books to be read in 2021. Each year, I seem to forget how to post it. The Reading Challenge of for example: 2020, 2019, etc. When I look at my profile it shows under Reading Challenge and shows the years I have done the challenge and what I have read. Appreciate any help. Thank you.

I think you mean the "Goodreads" reading challenge? Every year Goodreads will prompt us to pledge a certain number of books to read in the upcoming year. And that will be featured prominently on your "home page" right under your list of Currently Reading books.
I'm sure that will pop up for 2021 in a few weeks.
This year I refused to play hahaha! Because I hated getting those emails about "you are xx books ahead/behind!!" It just stressed me out. I got a lot of "reminder" notes in the beginning of the year to pledge a number, but after a while it stopped.

I had no idea that that you could get a list of your duplicate books. That was extremely helpful. Deleted a ton of them.
When will the 2021 Challenge be posted? And also the monthly group reads?

January 2021 will be "fresh start" and the group voted to read Dear Edward. That's as far as we've gotten right now!
Does anyone ever use audio books to compleate their challenges?
Of course! Probably about a fifth of my reads are as audiobooks.

Thanks!"When you go to post a comment, you will see at the top rught "add book/author". Click that, type in the book title and before you hit search, go to the bottom. You can click "link" or "cover". Click "cover". Now click search. When you find your book, click "add".
Clicking link is also great in my experience, because you embed the link to the info about the book on Goodreads. You can hover your cursor over the link to get the author. Much easier than typing in some title that the reader has to go find.

What all prompts could this book fit?

I've read Tender is the Flesh, and it's not about animal rights unless you are counting humans as animals. It is about how horrible humans can be though. Most disturbing book I read last year. I can't see a prompt it fits very well. Social justice is probably the closest, but in a really dystopian way.

I'm reading it now, and it is powerful.
I’ve done the challenge for a few years now and I’ve never had this problem before. On the list of the topics and the books I will read for 2021, I’ve entered the list and now would like to go back and enter titles. There’s no edit button for me to do so! I am Diane, #148. Do I need to make a new list and abandon this one? I fear that perhaps I have two good read accounts and posted initially under one I do not usually use?

I have another book slotted for that prompt, but perhaps I'll shuffle things around.
This is a suggestion for the moderators. Could the past year sections of the discussions be moved down so that people will more easily see the evergreen sections like the book discussions and job folder?

We do try to rearrange folders so that the folders most likely to be used this year will be at the top. And you're right, the Book Discussions have gotten buried. TBH, I had no idea people were still using the Jobs folder! I guess it's due to the "dream job" category this year? I'll move them both up so they are just under the General folder (which is still pretty far down, but ... all the other folders need to be up there too! too many folders on this dance floor ...)
When I've got some free time, I'll see about moving some of the old folders all together into archived folders to try to clean things up.
Anyone know how to delete a Goodreads shelf?

Yes. Go to My Books and next to "Bookshelves" click on EDIT. Then you will see X next to each bookshelf, and click on X to delete. It will ask if you're sure ...
(This is also how you can rename bookshelves)

The astrology sign is a tough category! But I just googled Sapphire and found this in wikipedia:
"Ramona Lofton (born August 4, 1950), better known by her pen name Sapphire" - so there you go. Whatever sign that is? Leo, I guess?
