I admit I'm getting anxious to see it. Though in the meantime I am researching books for the 2021 ATY challenge, so there is that! :)

The list came out so late this year, we didn't think we had time for the group to decide on all twelve categories, because that process takes several weeks. The mods chose a category for January (fresh start!) and the voting for that book has started over in the polls. We also laid out categories for other months, see the weekly check-in post for this week. https://www.goodreads.com/topic/show/... And there is a vote for which other categories to use for remaining months, open in the poll now. Vote for your favorite, and the top categories will be used.

I'm not sure! Are all the books on your challenge shelf also tagged as Read?
Also, check to see that it's not a problem with different editions - the Goodreads bot can get confused by that. Go to your My Books > Find Duplicates to make sure all your titles are properly synched.

I actually DNFed two of them, that makes sense ! Thank you very much !!

I think you mean the "Goodreads" reading challenge? Every year Goodreads will prompt us to pledge a certain number of books to read in the upcoming year. And that will be featured prominently on your "home page" right under your list of Currently Reading books.
I'm sure that will pop up for 2021 in a few weeks.
This year I refused to play hahaha! Because I hated getting those emails about "you are xx books ahead/behind!!" It just stressed me out. I got a lot of "reminder" notes in the beginning of the year to pledge a number, but after a while it stopped.

This was the first year I didn't get those annoying emails, no "you've achieved your goal, do you want to increase it?" ones either. Yay!

Allie wrote: "When will the 2021 Challenge be posted? And also the monthly group reads?"
the 2021 list is posted. There are folders and posts for each category.
Here's the list:

UPDATE The monthly group reads are HERE:

January 2021 will be "fresh start" and the group voted to read Dear Edward. That's as far as we've gotten right now!

When you go to post a comment, you will see at the top rught "add book/author". Click that, type in the book title and before you hit search, go to the bottom. You can click "link" or "cover". Click "cover". Now click search. When you find your book, click "add".
Clicking link is also great in my experience, because you embed the link to the info about the book on Goodreads. You can hover your cursor over the link to get the author. Much easier than typing in some title that the reader has to go find.

When you go to post..."
Yay! It worked! Thank you so much. :)

When..."
You are welcome! It's so fun to use.

I think that would be hard to do because if you know the book is a letdown, you probably already read it and wouldn't won't to again. LOL

Possibly social justice? Or something you are passionate about? Given the little I know about the book, it certainly fits my passion of not taking the lives of other animal species for food! And.... it is a stretch, but animal rights should definitely be a social justice concern.
Maybe some subjective TBR prompts, like prettiest or ugliest cover. This will be very individual. But this looks sooooooo good, I want to read it, prompt or not!

I was thinking it at least fit the genre hybrid prompt. Dystopian/Horror. 😊

Well, I'm really ok with people figuring out what factory farming is really like. That's what I mean about animal rights ;)
Agustina Bazterrica has a lot to say about the transactional approach humans have to living beings.
I'm reading it now, and it is powerful.

OK, figured it out. I DO have two sign-ins! Now I'm using another username/ password combo and I can edit my post. Sorry for my confusion but glad I figured it out.

I agree, I bought it for my collection!

I think it would work as a genre hybrid. It's marketed as dystopian/ horror.
I have another book slotted for that prompt, but perhaps I'll shuffle things around.

We do try to rearrange folders so that the folders most likely to be used this year will be at the top. And you're right, the Book Discussions have gotten buried. TBH, I had no idea people were still using the Jobs folder! I guess it's due to the "dream job" category this year? I'll move them both up so they are just under the General folder (which is still pretty far down, but ... all the other folders need to be up there too! too many folders on this dance floor ...)
When I've got some free time, I'll see about moving some of the old folders all together into archived folders to try to clean things up.

Yes. Go to My Books and next to "Bookshelves" click on EDIT. Then you will see X next to each bookshelf, and click on X to delete. It will ask if you're sure ...
(This is also how you can rename bookshelves)

The astrology sign is a tough category! But I just googled Sapphire and found this in wikipedia:
"Ramona Lofton (born August 4, 1950), better known by her pen name Sapphire" - so there you go. Whatever sign that is? Leo, I guess?

The great thing with the challenge is you get to set the rules for yourself. So if you have a short book that you want to count, go ahead.
Audrey wrote: "Is there a page # requirement? If I find a short book that fits the prompt, does it count?"
Everything counts. I have used picture books for some categories.

You can read anything you want, but this group is focused on reading books for the 2021 Popsugar Reading Challenge.
