Katherine (atticmouse) | 31 comments It is possible I guess. Depends on if everyone else likes or hates him.

Phil | 11852 comments Hi Penelope. From this time forward I shall call you Panoply. That's just where my mind goes when it sees your name.

message 2854: by Katherine (new)

Katherine (atticmouse) | 31 comments I think of cantaloupe! I pronounced her name like "cantaloupe" the first time I saw it.

message 2855: by Katherine (new)

Katherine (atticmouse) | 31 comments I think Penelope would probably be easier to read than cantaloupe. I think I used to call cantaloupe, "cantaloop." That's what it looked like to me anyway.

Perhaps also hypothetical?

Yes, perhaps more hypothetical than metaphorical.

Why thank you! I always thought it was rather unusual, myself.
Love your name, do you have any nicknames or is Katherine preferred?"

I have many but most people like to call me Kat. Some others are Kit Kat, Kitty, Kitty Kat, Katniss, Katillac, Kit Kat Patty Wack, etc. I have to wonder how they thought of some of them.

If we were, Penelope's would be a luxury ship (and not the one that crashed recently that was in the Yahoo! News), while mine is about to be the Titanic. Blub, blub, blub.

Penelope, the cruise I was on...you don't even want to know what happened. Let's just say my experience with them is a bit traumatic.

All I'm going to say at the moment is that it was in Thailand and involved transvestites. I was still considered a kid back then, so I was very confused about the whole ordeal.

message 2870: by Gal (new)

Gal (peacebloom) Hello everyone!

As a natural blue (blond) the explicit rule to obey standarts always touches the most humble parts of my soul. I'm a troll to the core.
I'm very pleased to visit a place where mockery is cherished.

And even if I couldn't participate as often as I wish know I always be here watching you!

Have fun!
And thank you!

*smile* nah, the "standarts of written English" are stated in the "welcoming" pop-up when one writes for the first time as the main source of mockery
I felt obliged to honour the treat. Or was it meant to be a threat?

message 2873: by janine (new)

janine | 7709 comments I'm pretty sure it says standards, Gal. I'll still welcome you though. Welcome to TC!

In my corner of the world the temperature is -4(°F). If you'd like to drop by I could do my best and get me brains back... we could share some popsicles (or hot chocolate) and recall the old times when a troll had to hide under the bridge waitng to be killed by heroes..

Jammies, respect :) it's always a pleasure to know a brother in arms had found himself a cozy place

nice try with Transylvania (maybe a little overratted place though imho)
just a little to the south :) munching over piles of (alas not raw) meat and studing enology on the field

Scout (goodreadscomscout) | 3598 comments Gal, in your first post - 3152 - you used standard English usage, as suggested for this group. What's up with your last post? Not acceptable.

Sister, actually, although it's hard to tell when you're a zombie sock ninja troll. Have you tried the 1999 Lafite Rothschild? It's excellent for washing down goat tartare.

Hi Dennis! Always nice when someone puts their best font forward.

Please, have mercy! This used usage got me on my knees. I confess I'm a non-native and I often got meself drowned in the undercurrents of the used English.
I also confess that it is a powerful tool to play oppressed (repressed) by the grammar police and use your own ignorance as a/an?(poor though) excuse

Thanks for the Lafite recommendation. I'm exploring the new world with The Scribbler Shiraz (no clue for the year). As a real noob I picked it because of the name :) after the poor owner looong intro about the shiraz. Cheers!
