The January 2016 Endicott book is Keith Donohue's novel The Stolen Child.

I enthusiastically recommend this one. It's easily the most believable portrayal of changelings I've ever encountered. Absolutely haunting.

Please post if you're reading.

Katy (kathy_h) I read this one in February 2015. Enjoyed it -- probably won't do a reread, but I'll check in for the discussion. It was an enjoyable read for me.

Here is a link to Yeat's poem -- makes a nice read to go with the book: http://www.online-literature.com/yeat...

Bill (reedye) | 14 comments Read this when it came out and loved every letter of it. One of my favourite books of all time. It's been awhile for me so perhaps I'll reread this one.

Janice (JG) I don't know if my book is going to arrive in time but I will check in when it does.

Perfect. Thanks, Kathy.
I've always loved that poem.

Michelle (fireweaver) | 65 comments Just picked it up from the library today, see you in a few days with my thoughts!

Blue | 2 comments Maybe my favorite book of all time. I've read it at least five times already, looking forward to discussing it!

Glad to hear it getting so much love. :)

Hope those of you who just discovered it are enjoying it!

Jalilah | 132 comments I read it in October 2011. Haunting is the word I'd use that best describes it. The writing is compelling although there is always a disturbing feeling underneath it. Ultimately it's a sad story about one' life gained and another's lost.

message 11: by Katy (new) - rated it 4 stars

Katy (kathy_h) Oh I agree Jalilah, I see we both rated it 4 stars. Great writing.
