I thought next week?Sorry for lack of notice/lack of planning on my part. I'm just about to head up to Auckland for a couple of days or else we could do now.
Here is a bibliography of Gh's works to help everyone have a think about it. :)

Would you just stop travelling around and having fun? Some of us are stuck in winter, you know, and this envy is getting the best of us! (Yeah, like I've ever wanted to go to Auckland. Ok, yes, I have.)
:)) I'm not overly fond of present day Ak (although it was a great place to grow up!) but my masochistic husband offered to help our daughter move house!
Carol ♪ Blinded by the Light ♪ GR Background wrote: ":)) I'm not overly fond of present day Ak (although it was a great place to grow up!) but my masochistic husband offered to help our daughter move house!"We helped our daughter and her three pack-rat hoarders move a couple of months ago, so I seriously feel your pain. And I will not be envious of this trip.
Amy wrote: "Did we decide what we meant by virgin read? Does that mean a book never nominated?"Yes.

If you guys want to start nominating go right ahead! It would be cool to have it all organised.
Karlyne wrote: " We helped our daughter and her three pack-rat hoarders move a couple of months ago, so I seriously feel your pain. And I will not be envious of this trip. The worst is we offered to give Chloe our old Queen Bed. We have borrowed a bil's van but I just wasn't strong to lift it up into the van. A brother of my husband just came & helped.
Chloe herself is a minimalist after living with hoarder parents! We probably missed the worst as the three of them have lived together a long time & would have to sort out who bought what furniture.

Maybe the hoarder gene skips generations!
OK I'll start the consensus nomination ball rolling with The Talisman Ring Often talked about but never nominated. :)
Sounds good to me! My husband and I were planning to read The Talisman Ring in the near future anyway, and I'd enjoy sharing thoughts with others

I'm up for the talisman ring too. It seems like were such an agreeable bunch that we might not even need a poll this month.
I'm up for Talisman Ring too. Never have read it before, and it's one of the ones I grabbed when they had that big Kindle sale on Heyer books a few months ago, so yay!
I'm just embarking on my year of re-reading GH after a 40-50 year break. So far of the Regencies I've read Faro's Daughter and The Toll-gate, so I don't mind what is chosen, although The Talisman Ring is one of the titles that has stuck firmly in my mind after all those years as a great read and is one that springs to mind immediately I think of GH.I guess my vote is for The Talisman Ring :)
Andrea (Catsos Person) is a Compulsive eBook Hoarder wrote: "I have never read "The Talisman Ring.""Oh, one of my favorites!!
How about setting a deadline for other nominations and then closing them? (Like tomorrow morning? :) )
MaryC wrote: "How about setting a deadline for other nominations and then closing them? (Like tomorrow morning? :) )"Oooh, time differences might make that tricky for me! How about if there are no other nominations in the next 12 hours TTR gets the nod. (in NZ it's now 6.45pm Monday)
I can't think of an alternative nomination. But I doubt I will join in with the reading of The Talisman Ring.
Firstly because although it is one of the books that I own I haven't often re read it because it is one book in a three book hardback omnibus so it is a heavy thing to lug around (I've read one of the other stories perhaps a couple of times and the third one I have never read. Neither were Heyers. )
Also I don't like the characters - the French girl annoyed me almost as much as Tiffany.

Carol -- since I know The Talisman Ring well I'd love to hear what those unique features are. Please could you tell us, in spoiler tags of course!
I love this book so would be delighted if it is a group read.

OK there have been no further nominations so The Talisman Ring gets the nod.I'll send out a broadcast message later. :)

Thank you! Good interesting points.

My internet went down for a couple of hours so I've only just sent the broadcast message.
My eyes grew HUGE at the thought we would be doing The Talisman Ring. If you need anyone to quote it to you, you can ask my daughter. We love this novel. Yay!
I was off finishing Blunt Instrument and forgot to check back here for the vote - I've read Talisman Ring and believe I have a copy, so yay! I don't remember much but I think I enjoyed it, so I'm up for a re-read.

Yay! One of my favorites :-)
The Talisman Ring was the second Georgette Heyer I ever read. It wasn't that long ago but I'll read it again. It was pleasant enough for me to want to read more of her books.
I actually don't remember The Talisman Ring all that well, I read it years back but other than Sarah Thane's name I don't really remember much. So that is a good excuse to re-read it. Looking forward to that.

I've read it many times but am happy to do so again; good choice! I think Sarah Thane is almost my favorite heroine, just edged out by "The Grand" Sophy.

Hi there Jackie!
I'll probably be putting up the threads for The Talisman Ring just a fraction early as I'm going sailing & leave for Auckland on the 1st. (my time) :)
Remind me of the timing on The Talisman Ring reading? Is it just March, or is there a date before which we can't post spoilers?

One thread for the first half of the book, one thread for the second, one thread which can have open spoilers. :)
