My Rating 5/5

What a cute little romance!!! I enjoyed the fairy tale like story of the two sisters brought up with so much cruelty and punishments that your heart went out to them. But more than the sisters Jilly and Mandy it is Lady Harrington who is the hero of this story. And I think that is what made this one so endearing. And there are snippets on Christmas 's origin and the various celebrations which added to the enjoyment.

Rebecca | 878 comments The Duchess of Bloomsbury Street

My rating 3/5

Well it was a good read considering the following facts
1) It was a Non Fiction which I usually stay away from.

2)The Author was talking about places she had visited in Great Britain which I had no idea about and could not even envisage an in image in the case of Churches and other literary monuments
.
3) The Author was also talking about people mostly fans and friends she met in London some of whom must have been very well known to all except me.

In spite of all these I finished it in a few days (It was short) so I presume it was an okayish read though the author's wry humour of 84 Charing Cross was apparent at very few places here.

Rebecca | 878 comments The Scarlet Pimpernel

My Rating 3/5

It had all the right ingredients A strong minded heroine.( She has been repetitively called "The cleverest woman in the world" ) A brooding handsome hero, a mystery , an adventure But then what? Wish I had read this when I was twenty years younger. The magic would have been priceless!

My Rating 4/5

A Gruesome story told so well that it felt like a bedtime grandma tale. I haven't read the screenplay but.

Rebecca | 878 comments A Trick of the Light

My Rating 4/5

One of my favourite authors. My favourite Hero.. Gamache.. And as always Louise Penny and Gamache delivered the goods. This reminds me how much I love the world of Three pines and its inhabitants.

7 husbands is short a novella... yes and the title caught my attention. Read Bury Your Dead if you are planning to read Louise Penny.

On my tbr. Think there was a bollywood film based on this - Saat Khoon Maaf.

Rebecca | 878 comments Yes. Starring Priyanka Chopra. The screenplay was part of the book but I did not read it as it had lots of Hindi and appeared to be a bit more gruesome than the original tale.

Rebecca | 878 comments Cocktails for Three

My Rating 4/5

Loved the story .. The three friends , their friendship, their issues and the writing. And was surprised at the end to discover that the author was Sophie Kinsella writing in another name.
