I only became a librarian this year but that's how I would handle it. You aren't going to forget about it as you have read the book.
I would expect response from support to be slow because of the time of year.

I think you can flag and revert the edits, because they will still be visible in the change log, but waiting for GR to check is OK too.

Annoyingly, description and author name edits appear to not have undo buttons.

In the case of author name edits, I would leave a change comment, because it may not be clear what it had been changed to if you edit it again.
Thank you for keeping the question general.
Any of the options are fine, but a is the one we would generally recommend.

Background
There is a specific book I read the other day. I went back to it today to see most things had been changed. The only thing not changed, oddly, is the cover. The author name (to a different author's name), book description (to 'currently unavailable'), and publication date (from 11/28/2013 to blank) were changed or removed by the author.
I'm being purposely vague as I do not wish to name names.
Questions
Do I, as a librarian:
a) flag the edits but leave book as is for now so that the book can be seen in it's current state; and/or
b) flag the edits and change the book to it's previous state;
c) change the book to it's previous state without flagging (while sending an email to support);
d) send an email to support without making changes.
I have, as of posting this thread, flagged the edits but not reverted the edits.
Thanks.
