Quick KDP question regarding pre-order

Hi all!

I have to have my book uploaded to KDP by midnight tonight(I know, I am really pushing it to the line)It's done, but I am still tweaking. Is it possible to upload what I have and then go back and upload a new file tomorrow? I don't want to lose pre-order status for a year but I could really use some more time instead of the three hours or so that I have. I am willing to upload what I have since it's complete, but I am 'fleshing out' things here and there(not changing the story, just embellishing a bit)Advice from those of you who have dealt with this issue extremely welcome.

I have never gone live with a pre-order now (though I have one pending right now that's due Dec. 22), but I would be surprised if you cannot make changes once the file is accepted. I know with regular works you can make all the changes you want once the book is live.

Sorry if this isn't helpful. I'd be curious to hear what others who have gone live have to say.

Good luck! BTW, are you doing anything to market your preorder?

I have been on social media and my blog, that no one follows lol. I don't have a single sale for pre-order, so I don't know what all the fuss is about from Amazon anyway. The book won't be live until the 29th, so I am not sure why they want it so early, but I am just about done tweaking....I hate the pressure of being rushed though. My own fault for putting a pre-order before the book was finished. First time author mistakes....lol

I would love to ask them, but there's not enough time before midnight and it's 9pm now. I am just gonna bang it out and try to upload by 11:30. Thanks S.D.:-)

Hi Erica. No, you will not be able to make any changes or upload a new file until 10 days following your pre-order deadline. You'll be locked out from making any changes during that time.

okay, thanks so much for that information Quoleena! I will never do a pre-order with Amazon again unless the book is completely ready lol.
