TS Chan (tschan) | 72 comments I've always did wonder how Royce learnt of his lineage being an orphan. Lady Dulgath is indeed an enigma - I'd almost peg her as having elven blood too. Any thoughts about this so far?

The best part of this book so far is how much we get of Hadrian and Royce. I particularly enjoyed how each of them demonstrated in turns how effective they are in the scenes at Caldwell House. Well ok, Hadrian was still mighty gullible at this point.

I was leaning towards Elf as well.

I like that Royce knew the job was likely a setup and went ahead with it anyways, while Hadrian trusted it at face value.

Bill | 1596 comments I was thinking Elf too but she mentions that while he can see without the light that she can't. Gilcrest speaks of her and Maddie as being witches.

I loved the scene with Royce and Scarlett. We hear about how dangerous he used to be all the time it is good to get to see it.

hope Fawkes and co. do something unexpected they seem kind of stupid at this point.

Suzanne | 1582 comments I didn't think of her being elf in this part until I read your comments. But I love that she isn't just a lady in distress. It was great when she spotted Royce!
