Looking for this one book...

So I really want to read this book I heard about, but all I know is that it's fantasy, science fiction and adventure,and it was written in the 80's at the latest.
It has floating ... countries I suppose?
Land that floats, and the character or maybe two go from from one to another, having an exiting, thrilling adventure.
I hope someone can help me find it...
