The Oracle

Luke, April’s twin, has gone missing so April (daughter of Athena) and her friends Autumn (daughter of Kronos) and Joseph (son of Poseidon) go to look for him. Luke got lost in the Labyrinth but found his way out into Aries’s Zoo; the place he keeps and trains animals for battle. The heroes have to face various challenges in the Labyrinth like a Sphinx asking personal questions and other monsters. They find their way using Ariadne’s String. Which they steal from a monster. April begins to learn to be more independent, Autumn begins to learn that other’s mistakes don’t define her, and Joseph deals with some of his abandonment issues. They get to Aries’s Zoo and have to fight hordes of battle-hungry, blood-thirsty animals to escape with Luke alive.
Too much?))
Rachel's eyes went green just as she tried to explain that there was no way to summon the oracle on cue. The oracle looooved proving her wrong. Her eyes rolled at the irony before they flashed a brilliant lime green.
"Twisted wire in twisted maze,
Guided to an ancient age,
Wisdom's child must face a Sphinx,
With life's blood wager for the string,
Face the beasts and gods of stone,
Meet your fate in water's home,
Time again must be your friend,
Or questers all shall meet their end."
She collapsed at the end of it onto the cushioned floor. She applauded her messy creative space. Jeez, she'd better have a seat or lay down, otherwise the Oracle might just not care if she got a concussion. "Did you like it?" she asked, looking up, "I dunno, but people... they don't often like what they get."

((I don't think that's something the oracle would give as a quest more than a situation they get trapped in. A quest would be advice on how to remove the curse. The oracle wouldn't send them to get cursed.))
((If you want a thread to roleplay out getting cursed and have an escape-room-esque event with characters, that's cool!))
((Who stole the memory? Who is the soul? Why do they care? What are their fears? What do they sacrifice?))
Why? Hades isn’t a bad guy.
What powers?
Are their families dead? Wouldn’t the locket just return the memories of their families?

Okay. So they tresspassed in Hades world, and instead of killing them, he let them leave an heir before they died. Why would he want them dead?
Where did the locket come from?
Where did the locket come from?
Why does Hades want their families dead? He already complains that hell is overcrowded and a pain to rule.
How did the locket become that powerful, with the ability to raise the dead?
How did the locket become that powerful, with the ability to raise the dead?
It’s a really powerful magic item. I’ll probably allow it if you give it a good origin story and promise that it gets destroyed/crumbles into ash after being used.

How do you store power in a locket? And that wouldn’t give the locket the ability to bring them back. Maybe help locate or identify their lost souls. But not the ability to change them from dead to alive.
How about it just glows as it gets closer. And how many uses before it dissolves? And again, it shouldn’t have the power to bring back the dead. That’s OP. They’d have to bargain with Hades.
So to clarify:
Locket embodied with family power.
Used to locate family. By releasing a memory that the family member put in, the ability to find that family member vanishes. You want to view the memory only after finding the person, perhaps even after negotiating with Hades? We’ll see.
Quest details: long ago, family members delved into Hades and damaged something dear to him. Maybe they destroyed an artefact. Stole a locket. Something of that sort. Hades was angry, but Persephone negotiated a compromise. They could use the artefact or have it, but after they left their legacy, they would have to return and serve Hades as payment. The legacy, their heirs, plan to free and negotiate for their parents. Maybe through the return of the artefact, which may or may not be a locket?

Stolen goods, stolen heart,
A compromise from both parts,
In return for use of his soul,
The thief must pay a heavy toll.
Hades keeps their foolish souls,
Servants from the mortal coil,
Fools who thought from him to hide
The taste of Kore's stolen pride,
As one soul waxes and one soul wanes,
More blood will spill from common veins,
For as a choice can save a few,
Not all will be spared from Hades' view.

((Please do make your own prophecies if you have them! If people don't want to make their own prophecies, they have me write them up based on the quest details. I'm pretty dead on GR for the most part except for this specific task, so people can keep on questing.))

Jordan walked into the cave, his hand out in front of him trying not to trip. Ms. Oracle? Hello? My dad needs my help to find Amphitrite's bracelet. He sent me a vision and he looked kinda panicked. He says.
((do you have a quest group? it would be helpful to know which campers are going on the quest and what the quest will entail in order to write the prophecy!))

((Hey. Sorry Beth or one of the other mods handles prophecies usually, but they haven't been that active lately. I will try to see about reaching out to one of them; I am not very good at creating them.))

She peered into the cave. "Hey Elizabeth, you still in there?!"

((Are we allowed to fill in for now since she isn't here and since we have our prophecy?))

((another Luke-son of Athena))
