Finished this one. Making good headway on "Four and Twenty Blackbirds" and I found a prequel story for the Graveyard Queen I'm reading. "The Abandoned"

I have the Abandoned on my kindle and it's been sitting there awhile. Think I will go on and read it before book 4 comes out.

I am about 72% done with the book and am really underwhelmed. I had high hopes, but so far everything, from plot to characterization, seems contrived and inauthentic. I know Amelia keeps on evoking this sense of destiny, which is a theme I enjoyed in The Kingdom, but, in relation to Devlin it's just annoying me. The sexy tension I enjoyed in The Restorer is starting to pall and become false at this point. I still think Stevens is a master of atmosphere, but I'm hoping for a strong finish that recaptures some of the lost glamour of the earlier two books.

perhaps the next one recaptures it ... but I like the graveyard restoration parts... so the destiny thing, eh. It will be okay, cause it isn't like ghosts can pay her?
