#18: Book to Movie: The Martian by Andy Weir.

Hollywood did a great job converting this novel into a movie, mainly due to its diary format. I actually preferred the movie especially the final steps of the Hermes rescue mission. The movie had Commander Lewis redeeming herself for abandoning Watney on Mars by catching him as he rocketed pass her. While the novel had him obeying her orders by not compromising his spacesuit and turning it into a mini propulsion device and Beck actually rescuing him.
Both are superb pieces of entertainment!
