I like how the characters are coming together. In particular, the relationships among Victor, Mitch, and Sydney. I was amused by the addition of the dog to the troop. Although I'm not chomping at the bit to pick it up each time I have to set it aside, I find myself enjoying it.

I am also pleased with the slowing down of flash backs and the true development of the plot. I feel like we might know who is good and who is evil and I am pretty sure that Serena (Sydney's older sister) has the power of suggestion or mind control.
I like the dog and the fact that he is huge and loyal. I am not so sure of the EO that she resurrected as he sounds problematic. I am liking the fast pace of the book and the knowledge that I could totally finish it in a few more hours.
I did feel a stronger attachment to V.E. Schwab's Darker Shade of Magic and am happy that the second book is coming out in February.
