I was expecting the list to be evenly divided between Stephen King and chick-lit writers.

Golly. The Alexandria Quartet? Really? The whole damned thing??? (Not currently a Durrell fan ... probably never.)

I liked seeing Triple Zeck: A Nero Wolfe Omnibus on the list. Something I'd take.

pretty good list though the ones i've read i didn't read at the beach... damn. war and peace? beach book? just how long are we staying at the beach?

i actually did read part of cold sassy tree on the beach earlier this summer. it got prety soaked and was a pitiful falling apart book there at the end. i can't imagine reading these longer russian books on the beach. they would be for me the anti beach read.
