Ps. It should be the first image. The book has a cartoonish hand dangling a puzzle piece in its fingertips. Possibly the back cover.

Based on the binding and the rounded corners, I think this might be a journal or notebook instead of a published book. =)

Well, the guy says he's a stage magician, so this could be a book of the art. Magicians are very secretive about how they do their illusions. This could also explain the binding as many books on magic are published by private presses.

The German photographer Uli Beutter Cohen collects photos of people who read in the NY subway. He asks them to pose with their book and talk a little about what they're reading and why.

Juels, I found this back cover on ebay: http://www.ebay.ca/itm/Puzzle-Pieces-... and it doesn't look like it.

I cut the book part from the subwaybookreview image and googling with it finds images like this:
and googling with that second image I found:
A Piece of My Mind and I suspect it might be likely it's its back cover.
