SOLVED. YA Fantasy Book [s]

Ok if I remember correctly,the book is about a girl named Jade(i think) and she can read minds at the beginning of the book and she goes on a journey with two boys(brothers i think) and one of them dies, she keeps his heart to try and revive him but ends up burying it to put his soul at rest, she meets a Phoenix, the cover of the book has a girl in Asian clothing and a braid to the side of her head, and either a Phoenix or a Dragon in the background, oh and her mother gives her a book about how to pleasure a man i believe. I read this in 2012, from my High School library, Fiction.oh and she plays some game having to do with sticks.

Your description of the cover made me think of Silver Phoenix but it's a long shot.

I think Valerie is right. I don't have a copy of the book, but I did Amazon and GoogleBook searches of it, and the main character Ai Ling (who wears a jade pendant of some significance) takes the heart of Li Rong, which she carries with her for an extended period. Li Rong is the younger brother of Chen Yong, who also travels with her.

The cover also looks right: the girl in Asian clothing with a braid at the side, and when I look at a bigger version of the cover I can see the repeated motif of a dragon in the background (almost more of a texturing), going down the left edge of the cover.
