I tried to download The Darwin Elevator, but it will only play through my browser. It's a book I've been wanting to listen to, but I need to be able to actually download it.

Once you do that then you can transfer it to whatever listening device you have.
I right clicked like the instructions said. The only save option was save as. Selected that, but it wouldn't save. It also only allowed as webpage. I'm using Chrome, so that might be the issue. I'll try it with Internet Explorer tonight.
Nice find!Sandi - where it says "Download" with it underlined, right click on that link and choose Save As. I've tried with Chrome.
I just tried from my work computer. No problem at all. not sure why it wouldn't work pn my home computer.
Good news Sandi.Hmm, with Firefox, how to do it is somewhat more complicated from what I've read.
Several do seem to indicate this will work:

I thought it was funny that it worked at work. I use Windows XP and an older version of Internet Explorer. At home, I use Windows 7 and I tried both Chrome and the newest Internet Explorer. If anything, you'd think it would have been less likely to download on the older system.
Thank you these are great. For those of you having trouble downloading these, you need to open the download link and once the audiobook starts reading you can do "Save as"
Thanks for the tip, it does take a long time to download, 40 minutes? I think that would keep me from using it if that continues to be the case.
It did not take long to download the books. Maybe 5 minutes? and I was able to keep on working on my PC while that happened.

Tried using Chrome. No dice. Older version of IE (since I never use it, it is not updated) and it worked.
