Sophia (sool9917) | 5 comments I'm looking for a series about a red haired female journalist who investigated mysterious events, published in the mid/late 2000's. It was a mystery/thriller sort of series with comic reliefs every now and then.

She lived in a big city in an English speaking country (London? New York?). I think there were some fight scenes where she used her high heels and female wit to get away from the bad guys, or something like that. I guess it was sort of a chick-lit series for adults.

The series included at least 3 books. The book covers were in bright colors yellow/red/green/? and a simple drawing of a red haired woman on the covers. There might have been a cinnamon bun on the cover of one of them as well. I think the author was female with an English name.

Tab (tabbrown) | 5084 comments Maybe the Blackbird Sisters Mystery series

Sophia (sool9917) | 5 comments No... I'm afraid not. Only one main character and it's set in modern time without any heiresses or aristocrats involved. :(

Tab (tabbrown) | 5084 comments Sophia, do you remember the plot to a particular book in the series? That may help to zero in on your series.

Or, any other characters: friends, love interest, co-workers, etc.

Sophia (sool9917) | 5 comments I've been thinking about it all day but I really can't :( I remember one scene when she's running in high heels in a stair case trying to get away from one of the bad guys she's onto.

She works for some sort of newspaper and at least one of her colleagues is a real sexist. Not sure it it's her boss or just a coworker.

SarahBeth | 86 comments Maybe Sheryl J. Anderson? Killer Heels is the first book in the series.

Sophia (sool9917) | 5 comments Hmm... That does look like an almost perfect match.

BUT. I read it in Swedish and according to the author's website Swedish is not one of the languages the series has been translated to.

I also remember borrowing the first book in the series from the public library but when I search for the author's name in the Swedish national library database and I get no returns (and they list all books that have ever been available since the database was digitized in the 90's).

This must have been around 2003-2006. The second and third one I bought in different shops at different occasions so the titles had at least some circulation.

Hmm..

SarahBeth | 86 comments Maybe Sparkle Hayter? the time frame is a little off, but if it was a translation maybe it was published at a different date?

You can try stopyourekillingme.com and check under Job Index and reporters to see if anything rings a bell.

Sophia (sool9917) | 5 comments YES! THAT'S IT! THANK YOU SO MUCH!
