Where Do We All Live? (With Map Link)
Peter wrote: "To Howard : yes, I live not far from venice and i have some friends there :)"We visited the Doge's palace in 2009, but, unfortunately, he wasn't home in that Timeframe. Next trip I'll set the coordinates for a much earlier century.
Peter #58:Peter, your dedication is Chapter 9.
Dinner with the Doge is Chapter 7.
And Paul's, of course, is #6
None of you guys tell Amy, though.
She's busy drinking.
Just saying
Peter (Piero) #61:Don't tell Amy; I've been told she doesn't like short stories.
Plus, she's drinking (#57).

This is a thread meant to list where you live, so Amy can make a map- you guys are driving me to drink as well with your off topic posts
Heather, yes, my apologizes; As an ancient being from another Timeframe I tend to ramble. But, to be fair, Amy set me off with her #13, which was off-thread & also incorrect.

Melbourne, Australia here, though I think Neville got in first. I want to claim political asylum and move to Canada or something. Maybe I'll get lucky and meet a lovely Canadian woman and marry her :-)
Paul wrote: "Melbourne, Australia here, though I think Neville got in first. I want to claim political asylum and move to Canada or something. When I log in, the map legend says I am in "View only". So maybe there is a way for the owner to change the settings. Anyway, put me down for Grand Rapids, MI.
Yes, it's view only. I had it set up for people to add their names and location, but nobody seemed to be able to, so I'm now entering them all by hand when I have time.
Point Reyes Station, California is a bit of a time warp kind of place, sort of Mayberry meets Eureka. We're about 90 minutes up the coast from San Francisco. People here are passionate about everything including The Park (Point Reyes National Seashore), pesticides, politics, privacy, and of course, politics. I can honestly say there is never a dull moment in this pretty, little cow town.

Location: Staten Island, New York. I'm not proud of it.
Andy's from Ontario:Andy, I once climbed Brock's monument, on the edge of Ontario.
A stupendous view given the height & surrounding topography, with the Great Lake in one direction and Niagara Falls the other.
The circular path narrowed as you ascended the staircase, constricting in ever-tightening circles, seemingly never to end, but while thinking it wouldn't be long now I came to a step that was different from the rest for neatly chiseled into the stone riser were the words HALF WAY.
Worth the effort though, check it out.
Sadly, Brock is not in any of my books, so no drink for Amy.

Mount Laguna, California, east of San Diego at 6,000 ft. elevation. No one believes me in the winter when I tell them I live in San Diego (county) and it's snowing.
You can put me in. I'm sure you can figure it out - but if you've been drinking... ;)Cheryl
Carson City
Nevada
USA
Ha. Nope. I'm not familiar with any city other than Las Vegas in Nevada, so drinking is irrelevant in this case. I'll add it tomorrow.

Amy, Tej's in London also & Lance I think, but he's Welch so don't call him a Brit."
Thanks for remembering me and Lance too.
Put me on please, Amy
Tej Dyal, London.
And a Good afternoon, to my fellow Londoners, Katherine and Time Lewis whom I see on the map.
As Timothy said, Wales is part of Great Britain, as is Northern Ireland (NOT Southern Ireland which is known as Eire or Repbulic of Ireland).
Scotland is also part of Great Britain but in September, there will be an historical vote for independence. Its looking 50/50 which way the vote will go. Personally, I love my Scottish friends and and the highlands, so I hope selfishly that they vote to still be part of UK :) But either way, I wish them well in whatever they decide.

I live at Springrange in New South Wales, Australia (not far from Canberra, Australian Capital Territory).
Carmel Valley or Carmel, California. Whichever you can find on your map. My ranch is actually 35 miles east of Carmel.
Hi Amy. I wanted to contribute to this back in April but was in the process of moving. I see there are some people from Melbourne and now I live in Melbourne also (but in Florida, USA and not Australia!)
Wow, this is a wide-ranging group! I'm originally from California & Oregon, but I've been in Indianapolis, Indiana for the last 20 years. Lots of connections to other people's places, tho - I had a grandmother and aunt who lived in Car-MEL, Calif., while up the road from us, it's CAR-mel, Indiana! And I'll wave to San Diego (Mira Mesa, actually, and we went up to Julian for snow) and Ireland (where we call a certain northern town Derry, but the Brits call it Londonderry). Cheers, folks!
PS--author of "Through the Shimmer of Time," a middle grade time travel newly up on Goodreads.
I live in Sun Valley, Idaho.Amy, is it possible to clean up topics that have expired, such "Free book through April 30"?

Great idea, Chip. I shall.

 to Ivana - I grew up just on the opposite side of MN and go through F/Moorhead when visiting family. Growing towns, but I bet there's still not many goodreaders there.

Right. The process of adding people involves me removing the layer of the map with everyone's information on it and then adding back in the layer with all the new information on it. Unfortunately, last time I removed the layer, something was borked in Google Land, and I couldn't add it back in. I tried it again today and was able to get the layer added back in. So, never fear; the map is back up and running. I wish there were an easier way to do it, but I've not had luck finding one.
And that's probably far more information than you wanted to know. ;)

Nice use of the word "borked"....Before you go and google the term, who knows their history? Extra credit for those outside of the United States.
