Wow I really liked this one! I love zombie books where the characters are constantly on the run and fighting for their lives every minute. This one was action packed and the romance was sweet (even though it wasn't a huge part). It ends with a minor cliffhanger so I'll be reading book ASAP!

This book was a nice view into Pia and Dragos' life after they mated several months earlier. Pia travels to the Elves teritory and Dragos holds the Sentinel Games to get the new Sentinels to replace Rune and Thiago. In the end of the book Peanut was born and I'm actually pretty sad we didn't get more scenes with him.
The next book is about the harpy and Quentin and I hope we get to see more of Liam.

This book was good. It is about a group of Chinese women that meet and talk. It is about these women and their daughters. I enjoyed all the stories. The stories go from sad to just interesting. All in all a good read.

Jenne (jennetheinstigator) | 7439 comments I sent Lindy a pm last night. I'll keep my eye on the thread throughout the day and worse case scenario use the free pass. We're almost at the end so might as well use it if needed.

Lindy (lindylee) | 375 comments Preston, Douglas Reliquary (Pendergast, book 2)

This is one of those woo woo books I don't like, but it was audio and I was going in the car. The Relic, authors Douglas Preston and Lincoln Child have once again teamed up. This time they have give us Reliquary bk 2, a sequel to The Relic bk 1. The premise is intriguing enough: a series of brutal murders lead to a terrifying encounter deep beneath the streets of New York City. Just the thought of nasty critters crawling around the subway system was enough to make me very thankful that I live in CT.

Moving to spot 65, can read a 6th, 5th, or the alternate off the modern shelf.

Oh this was so so good! My favorite to date! Harry is hired to find the shroud of Turin after it's been stolen. So many plots, twists and turns, and hidden agendas! I loved it!!!!! (view spoiler) I really enjoy the books where Harry is teamed up with Michael. It usually makes for the most entertaining reads and Harry was quite funny in this one. I love what a smart ass he can be. Can't wait to see what the next one brings :)

Review:
This book was great. It is about a book store, Mr. Penumbra's 24-Hour Bookstore in fact. However this book store is a standard bookstore and the plot goes from there . A fun read about books and technology and every that goes with those topics. The only problem is that it could be a little bit slow at times. I do recommended this one and will read the others in series sometime.

Lindy (lindylee) | 375 comments Lutz, John Serial bk 6

Frank Quinn Series is a psychological thriller full of suspense. Quinn is hired to investigate a gruesome killing by the Commissioner of the NYPD, it all becomes personal when he recognises the victim. She has been gagged, violated, and tortured. New York Police Commissioner Harley Renz is no slouch, so before the blood has even dried he calls in Frank Quinn and his team, all retired NYPD. Quinn and crew specialize in catching serial killers and this one, quickly dubbed "The Skinner" for reasons easily guessed, gives them a run for their money.

This was the last full length book I had to read from this series and I hate it I'll have to wait months for the next book. When I finally get used to the series and the world, I run out of books.
I didn't like Aryal in the last book and I didn't have any opinion about Quentin so it was interesting to read their story, even when they both got on my nerves in the first part of the book.

message 232: by Gea (new)

Gea (gea89) I rolled a measly 2 so we're on Spot 67. That means we can read either #6 #7 or alternative Location: California

This is a 13th book from the series but I still love it and the world the author created. I loved Vasic and Aden, Ivy was nice enough but the Arrows were much more interesting.
Some things in the book were drawn out and some went too fast for my tastes but all in all this was an excellent book and I don't know how I'll wait for the next one so long.

Jenne (jennetheinstigator) | 7439 comments Two teams are currently at spot 74 (teams 2 & 4) if either or both roll a 2 or higher tomorrow could very well be the last roll. If both teams roll a 1 and or if they don't finish before the next roll then the game will go another roll. Here's the winning alternates all of these are under a spoiler tag in post 4.

76. purchased
77. Color: Yellow
78. Location: Kansas
79. Location: France
80. May-Read
81. Color: Gray/Silver

Again to win you must roll past 75 and you can read either the number you'd be on or the given alternate. In the event multiple teams roll past 75 then it comes down to who finishes first.

The Particular Sadness of Lemon Cake by Aimee Bender by Aimee Bender

june 11 2014

3 stars

This book was good . However it was weird but in a good way. It is about Rose a girl that can taste emotion in food, starting with her moms lemon cake when she is nine. It goes from there. It is a book that will stay with me for awhile. However it is very hard to describe.

Lots of revelations in this one about Harry's past. I kinda wish him and Murphy would hook up. I love Murph, she's pretty kick ass! There were some OMG moments in this one for sure. Harry's case in this one was rather interesting too lol. Can't wait to see what the next one brings :)

message 241: by Jenne (new)

Jenne (jennetheinstigator) | 7439 comments Both teams 2 and 4 had winning rolls. I guess we can go ahead and roll on the off chance they don't finish, that's highly unlikely though.

Lindy (lindylee) | 375 comments Dedham, Bill Empty Mansions CA

This is about the mysterious life of one of the richest women in America Huguette Clark. They wre in copper mining at the end of the last century. They owned homes in Ct, NYC and CA, although she only lived in the NYC house after her father died. After her mother's death, this super-wealthy heiress (who was obviously not "normal") withdrew from the world and descended into an unhealthy existence, locked away in her darkened apartment. (When you are super wealthy, you are not a hoarder, you have an assistant who curates your doll collection)
