I'll go the ALT route. I'm pretty sure I can finish

I am going to post my review hopefully this afternoon or earlier. I am flying out to Houston, so I won't be on GR for a couple of hrs.
Diane & Bouchra, how are your books coming along?

Roll 2, Spot 11
A Kiss of Shadows

Relevance: from the Challenge Shelf
Read: 04/23/14
Rating: 3 Stars
The story overall was good. The characters interesting and colorful. Laurell K. Hamilton painted a world full of depth, shadow, and intrigue. You felt as though you were offered this insider look behind the scenes and I must say it isn't a world I would want to live in. This tale would have easily gotten 4 stars from me with a little less sex.
This book pushes my boundaries a bit. The level of sex and the number of partners involved (for me) leans more to porn. Once I accepted the fact that what was going on was "normal" for the world the story occurred in, I was a little more comfortable with it. Still I would be interested in the next in the series.

Should I say "Road Trip"! That's what Quentin and his friends did after a series of clues left for Q to discover after Margo Roth Spiegelman disappear. The girl that he adored all his life and his next door neighbor. While gathering the clues, Q is beginning to realize that Margo isn't the girl he thought he knew. Margo may like mysteries but she's really a girl that's a mystery to Q, her friends, and family.

A new author and a new series, and I was pretty excited about it, but it was so disappointing. The story followed more like a Harlequin Presents and if I was reading it as an HP, I probably would have given it 4 stars or 5 stars but it wasn't and so I had a higher expectation. The hero was a jerk and the writing focused on a lot of dialogues that were too sappy, but the family dynamic is strong and one thing I learned is that the family company has some great benefits, and I wouldn't mind getting hired.

This means we can read, book 14 in a series, book 1 in a series, or book 4 in the series, or the alternative to pick a book with the first, middle, or last name of the author starting with E

Anyway, I'm on a Princess Diaries roll, so I'll be reading book 4 from the series.

Their Virgin Captive

Relevance: First book in a series
Read: 04/26/14
Rating: 4 Stars
Shayla Black & Lexi Blake did a wonderful job with this hot romance. Their Virgin Captive starts with a bang and finishes with an "Ahhhh". Delightful characters, full of depth and a fast paced plot left me not wanting to put this one down. From beginning to end, I enjoyed it.

I am between 3 and 4 stars for now, but this is first in the series for the Finn Brothers series. Heroine thinks she is in love with Michael Finn, her boss but Harry the other brother who is charming and has a playboy attitude wants Elizabeth. I really didn't like Elizabeth in the beginning, since she thinks Michael and her should be together but it doesn't seem like she is in love with him, and is pushing at a relationship that doesn't exist. Harry and Elizabeth have to work together and Harry finally gets his chance to be with Elizabeth. I really like Harry and I would really like to see Michael's story next.

In the second book of The Country Girls Trilogy. The Lonely Girl is the continuation of the lives of best friends, Kate and Baba. Set in the Mid-fifties, these BFF are now working class girls in the heart of Dublin. There were some amusing parts in the book, but I just couldn't get into the story. :(

Be back in two hours, at most.

Only an hour left for the deadline to the roll. Hina, are you around? I'll roll in 30 minutes if I haven't heard anything from you. Hope that's okay.

So we can read a book 1 in a series, an book 8 in the series book OR a book that starts with the letter N.

I Kissed a Dog

Relevance: First book in a series
Read: 04/29/14
Rating: 1 Star
I was interested in this book based on the blurb. It was not what I was expecting at all. The beginning started off well and I'm thinking to myself "oh, this is going to be good" so, I was really let down.
Zane, the hero, was smurky beyond belief. Chloe, the heroine, was so whinny I was ready to shoot myself. I also think she had a serious case of ADD. I was soooo thrilled when she lost her virginity that I wanted to throw a party. No, I'm not that twisted. I was just sick of reading about how she HAD to remain a virgin. She had issues and I wasn't interested.
All in all, a big let down that tried to combine too many things in one book. To top it off, it ends in a cliff hanger.

Princess on the Brink by Meg Cabot

It was an interesting book. We have a a genius hero who is very disconnected with his emotions and is very reclusive and we have an heroine who is the very opposite of him, where she brings love and laughter to him. And I love their baby, she is just adorable. I really like the way the book came together. It was definitely a good read for a Harlequin, especially the geekspeak. Although, knowing how he was effected by his upbringing and how he was living his life, sometime his disconnect annoyed me, even though I know he was opening up more. It just wasn't happening fast enough for me.

The coming of age story of two BFF, Bridget "Baba" and Caithleen "Kate" and the friendship that developed during their childhood. While living in rural Ireland, attending convent school, and planning to go to Dublin after they finished school. These two friends have very different views on how to live life and experience love. I should have read this book first before I read the second. I would have liked "The Lonely Girl" so much better.

We can read Book 24 in a series, Book 2 in a series, Book 4 in a series OR a book that starts with the letter W

Relevance: Begins with a W
Read: 05/03/14
Rating: 4 Stars
This was the first book I have read by Lori King and I enjoyed it. Steamy hot with likable characters and an ending that left me smiling. I do like my "happily ever after". From start to finish this is one that was hard to put down.
I especially like how the men, though brothers, had a distinct personality. This allowed each one to stand out from the pack and made the story more believable. Rachael surprised herself by being able to love all four of them but was even more surprised that they could love her. She didn't melt into the woodwork either. Her character shined at the start of the story and was even brighter at the end.

Chick Lit is one of my least favorite genre. But sometimes I come across a book that changes my mind and this one did. It was light and easy read! The concept of a neighborhood walking club was fun to read about. I think because it remind of my own walking club. My favorite part of the book was the friendship that developed between the 3 women of the Club. They were so different in so many ways. It was A Fun Read!
