( ᴜɴᴅᴇʀ ) many feet of snow, many miles away is a town called Nanuq, Alaska.

The people and places of Nanuq seem relatively normal at a first glance, just like you and I. Unlike many other towns in the state, Nanuq attracts people much more than most. Why, you ask? The Races. In the beautifully dangerous Alaskan terrain, eight teams compete throughout the year in none other than sled dog racing. As the town's primary form of profit and attraction, these races are what make Nanuq, Nanuq. Sled dog teams will train all year long for one event that can make or break a person as a brilliant musher; the Alaskan Challenge. Named after the state itself, winning the Alaskan Challenge means more than just a simple trophy -- besting this extreme competition earns not only the title of the Champion Sled Dog Musher in all of Alaska but a cash prize of $10 000. Since the sled dogs are the biggest manifestation of entertainment in Nanuq, most of the town's life revolve around it. Nothing will stop the teams from competing - Mother Nature herself won't be able to stop the raw power of the sled dogs.
