What a crazy ending to this series! All the good things I wanted... no NEEDED to happen did! A couple other surprises but all in all it was perfect.
I will miss this series a lot. It's very dear to me

I AM JUST SO HAPPY YOU ARE FEELING THESE FEELS WITH ME... My heart is just so full of love and sadness about all the parents deaths (except the king). Celeste! I didn't see that happening and was actually kinda sad about it as well

I think I'm also going to miss this series, even though it's not one of my favorites (mainly because I never really liked America very much) but I'm going to miss it, especially Maxon. :D

Can't wait to read this. I think I'll join the buddy read :)
Ah, you still have 2 great books ahead of you then ☺ This buddy read lasts all month so you can join at any time. Hope you love the elite!

I think the first book was mediocre and I kinda hated the second, but for one reason or another I want to finish this series so I'm reading this as well.
I have such a hate-love relationship with this book that I'm finding hard to put it into words.
America annoys me to no end, but sometimes she has glimpses of intelligence that shock me and she gets my attention for a while, just to smash it again to pieces when she starts to whine about some unimportant thing.
I feel the same way about Maxon. I like him, his hot and I do understand his position, but I think he doesn't take enough time to get out of his own self-pity in order to understand the other girls as well. While his running around kissing all of them and pretty much having a great time he's annoyed when they get jealous. He's something like: "You're in the Selection b*tch, you should have known what was going to happen so why cry now?" He's not really taking into consideration the girl's feelings.
I've read the first 10 chapters and I'm annoyed how much this story concentrates on the romance and we get few new information about the dystopia world.
Also, this book has one of the worst love triangles of all times. The second book kinda left me with the impression that America decided who she wanted and that's the main reason why I wanted to read this book, but now I see that's she's again going from one boy than the other. Why is she upset of Maxon's escapades when she pretty much does the same thing, even if she's not meeting Aspen anymore, she's still thinking about him.
Also, the first chapters, when she was trying to seduce Maxon almost made me drop this book. WTH! Talking about shallow...
Good things about this book: short, easy to read, doesn't really bore me. Too bad it annoys me...

His father is like that bad super-villain that will always do bad things and never see the logic of our main character's actions. (view spoiler)
Also, his mother is like the fairy good mother, always impartial, always loving everyone, always perfect.
Gezz...

Yeah XD

Am I the only one reading this right now? @.@
Possibly. It's still quite early in the day in America so we'll probably get more people join later ☺

It was an ok story, very romantic, not really believable. If I would have been younger I probably would have enjoyed this a lot more. It's a longer version of Cinderella.
The dystopia elements in this book were so poorly developed that by the end of the book you couldn't even care less about them. This could have been set in the 20st century or today and it wouldn't have made a very big difference. the story could have remained pretty much the same since the only thing that ever got any attention was the love triangle.
Also, that ending was so cheesy...
