"Just then, Axe walked right by me in a kind of a daze, making only a marginal attempt at staying in the cover of the rocks. Then I saw the wound, the right side of his head almost blown away. I shouted 'Axe! Axe! cmon old buddy. Get down there, right down there.'"(239)
This is my favorite part in the entire book. The man has been shot in the head, and still continues to absolutely rain hell on these terrorists. He could have given up and just decided to die, but he is still fighting as hard as he would have the day he became a SEAL for his country. What this brings out in me is a since of gratitude. I cant thank the men and women of the armed services enough because they are making the ultimate sacrifice and putting their lives on the line just so that I can go to church, live in peace, do what ever I want pretty much. This to me just puts me in complete awe that someone would care enough about my freedom that they would leave their family, and everything they have just to protect my freedoms and my rights so that you and I could live a peaceful life.
