Lists on Amazon as 345 pages, the same as the goodreads entry, but the copy in my hand right now has 362 pages.

Are Amazon and Goodreads both wrong? Or can there be two issues of the same ISBN number, but with different page counts?

Since the 345 on Goodreads came from Amazon, it's really just a question about Amazon's page numbers. Which are not infrequently slightly off. As Ella's Gran indicated, WorldCat's page numbers are far more likely to be correct.

MK (wisny) | 86 comments This came up again. Regarding the title, A Clockwork Orange -

I just brought home ISBN #0-393-31283-6 from my library. The publication date, and page count, don't match the ones in the book entry here on Goodreads.

This information from my library's listing corresponds to what I see in the physical book, on hand:

Authors:Burgess, Anthony, 1917-
Title: A clockwork orange
Publisher:New York :, Norton,, [1986]
Characteristics: xiii, 192 p. ;,21 cm
Series:
Norton paperback fiction
Summary:Told through a central character, Alex, the disturbing novel creates an alarming futuristic vision of violence, high technology, and authoritarianism. A modern classic of youthful violence and social redemption set in a dismal dystopia whereby a juvenile deliquent undergoes state-sponsored psychological rehabilitation for his aberrant behavior.

But this is the information Goodreads lists for that ISBN #:

Paperback, 213 pages
Published April 17th 1995 by W. W. Norton & Company (first published 1962)
original titleA Clockwork Orange
ISBN 0393312836 (ISBN13: 9780393312836)

Should I create another edition then? And if so, how do you do that, when there's the same ISBN?

message 8: by Monique (new)

Monique (kadiya) | 1097 comments You should create another edition, just leave the ISBN field blank. Post a link here to the new edition and I'll combine it with the other editions and add a Librarian note note it, specifying that it also has that ISBN.

MK (wisny) | 86 comments ty, Monique! I will (after lunch, or so). I'll be back later this afternoon with link

MK (wisny) | 86 comments Back again. Here is the requested link:

But, a special note - I literally had just clicked to save this new edition entry when Goodreads went down this afternoon. The page just hung and hung. I have no idea if it actually uploaded or not, and didn't know how to find out, b/c the ISBN field was blank, so I re-entered the information.

Thx in advance for help! :)

message 11: by Empress (new) - added it

Empress (the_empress) Combined. I don't see any other edition for combining so probably wasn't created.
