Kelly Duncan Is this book overloaded with lots of metaphors and similes, that not only don't make sense most of the time, but also really aren't needed?

I don't so much have a problem with the storyline or anything, but I feel it could really do without all of it. If it was cut down, I would enjoy this book a lot more.

Also not really liking Juliette, I don't really know why, I think its more the over done inner voice that annoys me, and I know this is popular, but I just had to say it, because I want to know if I'm the only one who feels this way.

Princess Godoy i did a rant about Tahereh Mafi writing style (http://www.wattpad.com/42960494-book-...) because it freaking annoyed me on so many levels.

About Juliette, yes she's really annoying and so full of herself but I swear in Ignite Me
(view spoiler)

that's all ^^

chinami i remember still disliking her in book 2

Kelly Duncan Your rant pretty much sums up how I feel, I get that its due to preference, but its just so overdone!

chinami i hear stuff about book 3 but i was not impressed by the spoiler i heard.

Nellie ☾ I loved the books, and I was quite okay with the colorful words because it's all poetic and whatnot. I just found one weird sentence though. It's when Juliette compared Adam's eyes to a river or something and she was like "I want to cry into his eyes" o.o it sounds weird like why would you do that. Lol. But I got used to it up to Ignite Me.

Andi Well, I would say there is a sizeable difference between "poetic prose" and amateur "poets" who think they're being super clever.

I saw right through that crap.

I'm on Chapter 13 of Unravel Me & I'm not liking Juliette at ALL! I just keep wondering if she's going to get out of the negative numbers in the self-esteem department- ugh! And she borders on whining much of the time...SO tired of her "nobody likes me because I'm a monster" song & dance. I decided to move on to book 2 in spite of having to journey through all of those metaphors in book 1. However now I'm not so sure!

I like many things about the story but I don't know if that's enough to keep me going here.

Enyoung That's why I like it because it turns out to be a quick read.
Super fluffy and full of nonsense, it's seriously a break for myself from all the school stress.
Weird I know.

Kelly Duncan yeah I agree! I don't think the world is very developed at all, and I dislike 95% of the main characters in the book. j have read the first two books and the two novellas, and my opinions still haven't really changed. I would say, however, than the second book js better than the first, for me anyway, but still pretty weak. I will more than kikellyo read the last one, but I am in no rush to get round to it.

chinami plot wise this story should have been good but all the author did was to force us into liking Warner. i despise all characters.
