Thank you, Marina. I checked it out, and it is very interesting. I noticed that the completed story will only take Lizzy up to age 5 though, so I doubt there'll be a wedding between her and Darcy!
I just finished the sequel to Lady Bridget's Diary yesterday. That one had been fashioned after Pride and Prejudice and Bridget Jones' Diary, so it qualified as Austenesque. The one I just read instead copies the general plot of the movie Roman Holiday, so I can't list it among my books here. However, it's delightful and I highly recommend. It's Chasing Lady Amelia. My review for it is: https://www.goodreads.com/review/show...
I thought I had struck gold, but some of the reviews looks rather...vexing, shall we say? Pride and Prejudice the Jewess and the Gentile- I was hoping for a solid "mash-up" between two key interests- Regency and Yiddishkayt, but it doesn't sound like "the tribe" gets a fair shake.https://www.amazon.com/Pride-Prejudic...
From the reviewers’ comments, it sounds as if the author also has no notion about the state of British laws regarding its Jewish citizens in the early nineteenth century, as well! Maybe just another well-known author trying to capitalize on Jane Austen’s popularity?

Oh, not fair at all. Her birthday should be celebrated internationally with all her publishers. :(

Interesting that Austen and Heyer celebrated birthdays on the same dates. Just an idle thought I had!! Stop it!!! You should be reading Teresa. Not idling!!

Saw this caption on the set of Society for Paranormals books and had to share:
A paranormal detective refuses to let danger, death and unwanted suitors inconvenience her in the small town of Nairobi. These are the first four cases in the “Society for Paranormals” series, where African myth meets Victorian manners. If you adore “Pride & Prejudice”, appreciate British humor, enjoy paranormal cozy mysteries, or would love to experience adventure in colonial Africa, then get ready to start your supernatural safari.

Definitely free in the UK. Just grabbed a copy. The reviews are a bit mixed but I'll give it a try.

For those of you who write reviews, there is a book reading and reviewing challenge for those who want to Clean Out Your Ebook Reader (COYER). This winter the challenge is to read and review books you obtained for under $1 and borrowed books or Kindle unlimited do not count. But, what has me excited is you can include ebook ARCs you obtained for free. Yes! I need to do this!If you think you might be interested, check out the challenge here: http://coyerchallenge.com/2016/11/17/...

Thanks for sharing about COYER, Barb. I enjoyed the summer challenge so I definitely want to give it another go. :)

I just finished reading Maya Rodale's third novel in the series Keeping Up With the Cavendishes,
.As you know the first one was the retelling of Bridget Jones's Diary/Pride and Prejudice (both 1995 and 2005) and the second one, Chasing Lady Amelia, was the retelling of Roman Holidays... in London.
As for this one, in the beginning I thought it was a retelling of My Fair Lady, but it strays a bit, and I saw even something from Grease!
Anyway, this series is fantastic! Looking forward for the fourth, and unfortunately last, one. Of course the hero will be James, and the heroine?... She's in each one of his sisters' books, but in this one she has a name!

Oh how fun! A My Fair Lady and Grease mash-up with a historical romance has me very curious. I still need to start this series. Glad you loved it, Georgiana.

I spotted that one too, Georgiana! I read and absolutely loved the first two in the series, and I definitely plan to read Lady Claire Is All That. I second Georgiana's recommendation to check out the whole series. They're well-written, light and fun.
If anyone is interested in British history, especially our monarchy, and has access to Netflix, can I recommend The Crown? It tells the story of the life of Queen Elizabeth II starting with her marriage and continuing for about ten years. Apparently they're planning further series, each covering about a decade at a time. For added interest there are several alumni from various Austen associated dramatisations.
Matt Smith (Parson Collins, P&P&Z) is excellent as Prince Philip.
Jeremy Northam (Mr Knightley, Gwyneth Paltrow's Emma 1996) as Anthony Eden.
Harriet Walter (Fanny Dashwood, S&S 1995) as Clementine Churchill.
Greg Wise (John Willoughby, S&S 1995) as Lord Mountbatten.
I had my eye on that one, but didn't realize there were so many Austen movie alumni. :) Even better. Thanks, Anji!

Yeah, that was challenging the first time I did it. But I got smart and anticipated so I put a not on my list of books I bought whether it was a freebie or less than a dollar so I'd be ready this time. I can kind of remember if some books were cheap or free even before that so it wasn't too bad the first time.

If you buy your books on Amazon you can look at your old orders and it'll tell you how much you paid.

Good point! I didn't think of that. :)

I went through my old orders and made a big list of paid for items and I've been thinking of doing the same for freebies. I'm going to challenge myself to tackle both lists in the new year.

I like that idea. I need to do it and stick to it. :)
