Sheila Majczan (sheilalmajczan) | 700 comments Nicole, I love N&S but have only read 2 variations or sequels. Could you send me links to any that you highly recommend. I did read Pack Clouds Away but can't remember the title of the other one. I have a N&S Pinterest Board with lots of Richard Armitage's photos.

Nicole Barton Sasser (bartonsasser) | 134 comments A Brighter Hope - online, see book info
A Heart for Milton: A Tale from North and South
No Such Thing As Luck: A North and South Variation
In Consequence: A Retelling of North and South
John Thornton Meets Miss Hale, Mill Owner - I like this one, but be cautious of the author's other work...

I lost most of the fanfiction a couple years ago as mentioned above, but as I find again, will add to below.

This morning, everything in spam again. This has to get resolved or I will keep missing this JAFF goodness. (Do you like how I am bringing the drama?)

I have yahoo email. Did you go into the spam folder, check the email that you want to go to your inbox, then go to the top bar and click on "Not Spam"? That's always worked for me.

I did but it didn't work. I went into settings and used the filter word goodreads to make sure that anything with those words goes into my inbox. Problem solved but thank you for the assist!

Talia (kneyda) | 217 comments I am rereading the Alman series from the beginning because I bought the last book in the series.

The Darcys & the Bingleys: A Tale of Two Gentlemen's Marriages to Two Most Devoted Sisters: First let me say that Marsha Altman is one of my favorite authors. You know what you are going to get with her, a well-written book that is clever and a joy to read. The first book in the series of ten, The Darcys and The Bingleys has not only a lot of charm but much humor and wit. I find a lot of Jaff is lacking in it or the wit is often too harsh and biting. Ms Altman is the master. I have read this one many times. It never gets old.

The Plight of the Darcy Brothers: A Tale of the Darcys & the Bingleys: Book 2. I love the way Ms Altman continues her character development in this book. The new characters are wonderful and add to her world. Loved it! I want to also add that it is nice to have a book series where Darcy and Bingley's friendship is in the forefront. We sometimes get that with Col Fitz and Darcy but not usually Bingley. I can't think of another book that flushes out Mr Bingely's character so thoroughly. This Bingley is my favorite.

They are so good. I can't wait to read number 10.

message 512: by Talia (new)

Talia (kneyda) | 217 comments Just finished listening to The Gallant Vicar: A Pride & Prejudice Variation. I could not wait for this to end. I had trouble getting through it at all. It was only my knitting that got me through. I have liked other books by this author so I was surprised at the quality of this story. I don't usually care if the characters are true or if a story is outlandish. It bothers me when all the adults in a story have to rely on Elizabeth. That was the first problem, the second being that Elizabeth had no sense whatsoever and was not an Elizabeth I would want to know, third, Darcy and Elizabeth had no reason to like each other or have any change of heart at all, fourth, Mary and a farmer?! (not that I am against that sort of thing, but a farmer?), etc... It just went on and on with no style or reason. There are other books that are way off base but the storylines are usually so crazy that you have to laugh. Since this is an author I found clever in the past, it led to a more adverse reaction from me. Wish I could have loved it which is what I expected and wanted.

Talia (kneyda) | 217 comments I finished All or Nothing and the alternate ending as well. If you haven't read this one, it is so worth it. Lots of angst and sweetness as well. I loved it and both of the endings. Also, it is very long which is satisfying as well. :) Thank you, Erika!

62. From Ashes to Heiresses: A Pride & Prejudice Variation Short Story - 3 stars
63. The Gypsy Blessing - 5 stars

I feel like I've slowed down lately, but mostly it's just that I've been reading some longer books in my mix. There for awhile I was able to check off a book a day, but these are taking me longer. (Also busy season at work + home renovations, but who's counting?)

This one has been on my list for awhile, but there are so few Persuasion stories in comparison to P&P stories that I've been saving it.

I know. I am lucky. I have seen what some of my friends go through in their relationships. He is great anyway but throw in the JAFF support and it just makes it that much better.

I don't think that anyone really can be caring enough to deserve the Easton P & P and Darcy bust. I don't really think I do enough for my husband but I do knit for him and play harp to him every day so that has to count for something, right?
