No, I agree with that, too. Getting her BSDM research from other fictional BDSM romance novels did not help a bit. But that's even another topic, lol.

I don't really see the connection... I actually liked Twilight better than 50 shades... "

50 Shades is P2P Twilight Fanfiction.

There are some great discussions of it that show the extreme details in which 50 Shades is just slightly off canon FF. And then there are the associated moral ramifications as well.

I love the Witch World Series, (started with Witch World) but Ala feels it reads dated (pubbed 1963).

So I feel The Key of the Keplian is a good place to start because the MC is a new comer to the world and has to have a lot explained. Norton doesn't to explanation a lot, so...

If you aren't really into that series, I also like her Moon Magic series starting Moon of Three Rings but its SF and a little dated.

Her The Elvenbane series with Lackey was pretty good, too.

She is also the author of The Beast Master series - it was turned into (a very badly adapted) movie and a TV show.

Greg | 201 comments I got 16/53 but then I've only seen two HP movies and read none of the books listed in the quiz. I would've scored better if they had included questions pertaining to Michael Grant's Gone series!

I read Trey of Swords years ago but didn't get into the series because I only picked that book up as a stray copy in a secondhand store - they weren't available as new books at the time where I lived. I wouldn't mind starting the series from the beginning though.

Trey of Swords is a weird one. There are a handful of Witch World books that were written more as prequels. Most of them are...odd and hard to understand - especially if you are not already steeped in Witch World lore.

I enjoyed Trey of Swords. I like all of them for the most part, though.

I don't mind 'odd and hard to understand' necessarily, so long as the book is interesting/entertaining to read. :)
