Hobbit is u knw amazeball!...But yes Bilbo Baggins (in the movie obvi) says everything & u should add Lord of The Rings trilogy!! Even though I hadn't read it who the hell cares?
Loved the book (it took me twice to get through the whole thing the first time tho). And the first two movies were impressive although I don't think three movies were necessary.

Ye. I never really got into The Lord of the Rings trilogy. I'm determined to read them all but so far I've never really been that interested.

It's much lighter and hearthly than Lord of the Rings, being a breeze to read and and amazing and very entertaining story, as most of the times, better than the movies too :)
Give it a go and tell me what you think!
Thanks! Will do. I've started the hobbit many times and never really got it. Oh and why does the dragon talk?? That's so stupid!!

they´re supposed to be one of the most ancient and powerfull races in most "worlds"
Also, "the Hobbit" was written for children and talking dragons does sound like something that would be included in a children's book
I have an interesting connection to this book. My 7th grade English teacher suggested we read it. It was the year "The Fellowship of the Ring" came out in theaters. So I decided to try it a year later. I wanted to see if I would understand the story before I started reading the series. When I did read it, the second movie was about to come out in theaters. Rumor was that our next theater production at school that year was "The Hobbit". I went out for it and got the part of Gollum. My dad and a few of my friends had read the books already (I got sidetracked and still have to read the third book) so I saw the movies with them. I was one of the few girls in the whole theater! I saw the second one twice: once with my dad just after the performance, and once with my sister (who I had to explain the entire series to) before the show. I've since attempted to finish reading the series and have seen all (and own all on DVD) movies except the most recent "Hobbit" movie. From what I can tell, the movies are fairly close to the books. I can't say how close as I haven't read all the books yet.
My Year 8 English teacher has recommended two books (one book one series) to me and I don't know how she knows me so well, they have both occurred on my favourites list!! And Top 10!! How?? She just recommends book and I fall in love with them!! It's a bit creepy and I don't know how she does it.
Loved the hobbit!!!! Book was better then the movie as always. Definitely a have to read, I actually just recently read this. I really enjoyed it
Emma wrote: "Should you read the hobbit before LOTR or is there no special order?"Technically you don't need to read it first because they are both standalone's but by reading the Hobbit first it definitely gives you a little more insight into LOTR.
HOBBIT is one of the best books I've read. It is PERFECT and LOVELY and I don't think I'll ever get tired of reading it!! <3 I love the book so much!
I love the hobbit so much :-) I read it when I was ten, then watched the films when they came out then I read the lord of the rings and I'm halfway through the Silmarillion. They're hard to read but worth it, I'm 14 and managed the lord of the rings in 6 weeks so everyone should try to get through it and at least past Tom Bombadill
has anyone read the Silmarillionalso noticed Legolas and Tauriel aren't in the book ;( and no TaurielxKili as well

Bilbo Baggins ..enough said :D
