"so i'll meet you at the food court when your done" he said, "just send me a text and i'll be on my way" he smiled
"Okay. Yeah that definitly works" she nodded and stood up. "I'll see you then "she told him and headed out of the library.
he waved back and continued to watch as she left, then he went back to his book a minute after she had left and read
Chase got up and walked over. "Nova you okay?" he asked her the jealous evident in his tone as he watched the other guy touch her
"I don't care. Where do you want to go?" he asked her.((Where were we posting for Alice and Chris?))
"You seen your sister lately?" he asked wanting to make sure that now that they were together they hung out.
"Yeah. The theater here on campus shows the same movies as the ones in the mall. Do you just want to go there?" he asked her
Icarus slipped through the doors into the library, careful to move his wings out of the way so that they would not hit the door frame. He stalked over to the rows of bookshelves, wandering among them and farther into their maze with a tired, expressionless face. Then once he was fairly far into the rows of bookcases he lifted his wings and gave one flap and pushed himself into the air. The metal of his wings, newly oiled, moved soundlessly up and down, stirring the air around him. He perched upon the top of one of the bookshelves and stretched his iron wings out wide before pulling them in close to the rest of his body. He cast his eyes down for a moment before drooping his head and letting them close half-way.
Pearl stared at the wooden door in fornt of her. Would the school's library be normal? She wondered. She closed her eyes and tried to imagine the library back home, but all she could remember was her father's blood staining her library book, that lay open on the dining table when... She snapped her eyes open. No. She refused to think of that night. She felt a large wave of sorrow rising as she rested her palm on the door knob. She swatted that feeling down. She was fine, she was steel. And she would not cry. Boldly she opened the wooden door and slipped in.
Icarus' heard the creak of the far off door loud an clear in his ears. He lifted his head and his grey hawk's eyes saw the girl enter, a girl who's looks pleased the eye, but Icarus never cared much for things that looked beautiful, he liked things that were actually beautiful. So after a brief moment of thinking on this new arrival the bird-man with metallic wings and keen senses curled his cold, steel wings around him, the metal feathers clinking together. He closed his eyes half way once again and let out a silent breath.
Pearl blinked, her eyes searching the library, looking for exploding bombs or whatever things the library could hold. Whens eh found no opposing danger, she walked over to the closest bookshelf, not knowing that she was right below the metallic winged man.
Icarus drew his hanging legs up, to give himself more comfort and bent in his head more, tired. His eyes were half-closed as they had always been as he slept, Icarus instincts told him to never sleep properly, they wanted him alert in all instances. He yawned silently, lazily and shifted his wings, the feathers once again clicking together.
Pearl pulled out a slender leather book from the shelf and flipped through it. When she suddenly, dropped it on accident.A page flew out of the old musty book. Thud! Pearl bit her lip and hurriedly reached to pick up the book, cursing herself for being clumsy.
Icarus' cold, steely eyes flicked wide open and he flinched. He yawned silently and murmured tired, but not annoyed, "Loud...." He turned his eyes down on the girl who had dropped the book, dropping down his legs again to hang off the bookshelf. He uncurled his metal wings, stretching them wide them them folding them back in, tight against his lean back. He observed the girl, silent and still.
Pearl glanced both ways as she looked both ways to make sure no one was watching. She picked up the library book page and glanced at it. It was a page with old runes. She felt closely drawn to the page, and silently she pocketed it, hoping she wouldn't be busted for stealing a library page. To wasn't as if she was stealing the entire book. Pearl shelved the book, and was about to go when, she heard a clanking sound form above her.
Icarus watched her pocket the page and thought for a moment before saying, "You can't steal school property." His voice was low and a bit rough and had an uncaring tone.
Pearl looked up. Busted. She smiled as innocently as possible. "I'm sorry sir, but I have absolute no idea what you're talking about." She said while inching her hand to her back pocket where she had stashed away her pocket knife.
Icarus' eyes did not move, they were as cold and resilient and still as usual. And then he said, using his lazy, indifferent tone, "Ah, you can't really lie to me... Just put the paper back and take your hand off of your knife..." He blinked only once and rustled his wings slightly, his hands rested seemingly carelessly beside his hips.
