Jason (skinnydippingintobooks) | 234 comments I am looking for any books that concerns itself, either as a backdrop or a specific larger theme, with resiliency in the face of adversity. Me before you and The fault in our stars come to mind, both with the writing and the subject matter. Doesn't have to deal with medical issues at all. Also the style of writing isn't that important. Just looking for ideas.

Gea | 20 comments I am fascinated by Resiliency and have a book list entitled Resiliency Lit, but most of it contains non-fiction. One of my favorite novels though is Winter's Bone by Daniel Woodrell. I love this book! Ree Dolley is one of the toughest, most resilient girls in literary history. Check out my review for more about this. https://www.goodreads.com/review/show...

True Grit by Charles Portis True Grit is another one with a girl who keeps getting hammered and refuses to surrender. Like Ree Dolley, Mattie is devoid of self-pity, a key quality I believe necessary for resiliency.

The Hunger Games also comes to mind. Katniss Everdeen embodies resiliency, although she is not without deep scars. And Deliverance.

Jason (skinnydippingintobooks) | 234 comments there is also some interesting stuff on the 1976 Chowchilla kidnapping. Donno if it fits the mold, but it is an interesting story, and of course undercurrents of resiliency
