Feliks (dzerzhinsky) I read an unpublished proof of a book within the last 6 years, which explored the history of nude modeling. It was not an immodest or juvenile book filled with racy pictures.

Rather, it was philosophical and psychological; filled with anecdote and history. The author talks about the 'craft' of modeling: the poses and postures; the motivations; the interplay between artist and model.

I believe it was written by a working artist and he wanted to bring to light this hidden, little-considered side of classical art school training which no one usually regards as important.

I've searched Goodreads and made a tentative identification of a title, and I've added that title to my shelves; but I'm just not quite sure I have it correct.

Feliks (dzerzhinsky) Good leads, I will investigate

The first citation looks like the closest match, but I feel the author was male rather than female..and the emphasis was firmly on 'sketch' models rather than any other medium.
