How to send book to beta readers

Do I just ask for thier kindle address and send a mobi file from calibre?

It varies - I would ask. Some prefer ebook formats, others word or PDF, and some will take any format.

I agree with Lin. I use my personal email address. I didn't even know I had a kindle address until about a week ago. The owner of the blog I write some reviews for sent us an email telling us we could use our kindle address to convert pdf files to mobi files. Call me sad and pathetic, but that was some of the best news I have ever received! :)

Does anyone know how to convert a word doc to ePub format?

I use Calibre (it's free, easy to use and fast)

First save it in HTLM format. this should be an option in your word processor

Second import into Calibre.

Third use the convert feature of Calibre and select the epub format option.
