Tinker bell | 28345 comments Alright I'm up now... I think that maybe we should start this like the night before the wedding?

message 25: by E.j. (new)

E.j. | 157 comments K. Sorry that took a while. I had school. Do you want to start?

message 26: by Tinker bell (new)

Tinker bell | 28345 comments That's fine I was in school too and I just got home

message 27: by Tinker bell (new)

Tinker bell | 28345 comments Raine laid in her bed the night before her big day. She sighed softly thinking that it should have been different. She shouldn't be dreading a day that is supposed to be a happy day. But she really wasn't looking forward to that next morning. She was marrying one of her friends, but that didn't help she just didn't see him that way. However there was nothing that she could have done about it now.

message 28: by E.j. (new)

E.j. | 157 comments Alexander stared at the folded wedding attire laying on a table in his room. He wondered what Raine must be thinking right now. They'd been friends for so long, but he didn't love her. And she didn't love him. Maybe they could learn to love each other as more than friends, but that would take a lot of time which was something they didn't have. Alex didn't even know if it was possible. Could you look at someone as a friend one day and as a wife the next? He ran his fingers through his hair in desperation and thought. It didn't matter now. He was getting married tomorrow, and there was nothing either one of them could do about it. Alexander walked over to his window and allowed his mind to search over the night sky.

message 29: by Tinker bell (new)

Tinker bell | 28345 comments Raine finally just couldn't handle it anymore and decided to walk around her room for the last time. By this time the next day she would be sharing a room with one of her friends. She frowned and wondered what Alex was doing then.. If he was as not ready for this as she was. She sighed again and was tempted to text him but didn't know if he was awake or not

message 30: by E.j. (new)

E.j. | 157 comments Alex stood at the window until he couldn't take it anymore. He reached for his phone on the dresser and typed out a text "I'm assuming you're awake and thinking about tomorrow like I am. Are you okay?" He sent it to Raine before he had time to change his mind. If he wasn't going to get any calmer, he thought he should at least try to calm Raine down.

message 31: by Tinker bell (new)

Tinker bell | 28345 comments Raine was startled by the sudden sound of her phone vibrating on her desk. She walked over and read the message from Alex and typed back' Of course I'm awake I just didn't think you would be... And I guess I'm fine... Just not ready for this .. How are you?' She sighed and put her phone on her bed and flopped back on it feeling awful

message 32: by E.j. (new)

E.j. | 157 comments Alex read Raine's text, and was relieved that she seemed not to be too worried about their wedding day. "I'm alright. I'm just sitting here staring at this tux I'm going to wear tomorrow. I'm gonna to look like a penguin. I just know it... " Alex sent. He felt his attempt at humor was a little weak, but it was the best he could manage at the moment.

message 33: by Tinker bell (new)

Tinker bell | 28345 comments Raine managed a small smile after reading his text. 'If you are going to look like a penguin... I'm going to look like a cake.' She replied thinking of the dress her mother had made her get. It wasn't even one Raine liked at all, but her mother wasn't to be talked out of the dress she was wearing

message 34: by E.j. (new)

E.j. | 157 comments " Cake's delicious though! Everyone loves cake! Penguins can't even fly... But, even in a dress that makes you look like a cake, you can bet everyone is going to think you look beautiful anyway." Alex sent. Of course, he meant it in a brotherly way, but he really did mean it.

message 35: by Tinker bell (new)

Tinker bell | 28345 comments Raine giggled a little able to forget for a second how worried she was over the whole thing, "Well that might be what you think... But it's going to be awful having to wear that dress for who knows how many hours..... At least you can take your coat off and just be in your vest." She texted back

message 36: by E.j. (new)

E.j. | 157 comments "I guess you have a point. But the only reason I'd take it off would be to dance, and we both know I don't dance... Unless you call flailing your arms around like a dying orangutang dancing. ;)" he sent. He took small pride in his ability to make bad situations better through his humor. He felt obligated to be a little serious though, so he added, "But, if you get tired of the wedding, I can always ask my parents to cut it short." he sent.

message 37: by Tinker bell (new)

Tinker bell | 28345 comments She laughed outright at the first part of his message," alright you have a point.. But it's still kind of funny to watch." She replied thinking of the very few time she had ever seen him dance. And yes at times he did look a little ridiculous, but at least he was having a good time. She sighed a little," Alright well we can always just leave.. Our parents will just have to figure out what to tell all of the guests." She sent back. Raine kind of figured if they both got tired of what was going on they could just leave after telling one of their parents of course.

message 38: by E.j. (new)

E.j. | 157 comments "We have a plan then! And, Raine, I know you don't want to marry me, but I promise to try to be a good husband. At least we aren't getting stuck with people we hate." He sent her. He looked at the tux again. His heart tugged a little, but not as badly as it had before. When he talked to Raine, everything always seemed to get slightly better. He didn't know why, but he was thankful for it just the same.

message 39: by Tinker bell (new)

Tinker bell | 28345 comments She smiled just a little," It seems as if we do! I know that Alex. And I will try to be a good wife to you..... Just know that I don't hate you at all.. I like you just not the way you are supposed to like your husband." She replied. Raine sighed a little and laid back in her bed. She smiled just a little knowing that she was going to be married to her friend and she knew that everything just seemed to look a little brighter when she was talking to Alexander

message 40: by E.j. (new)

E.j. | 157 comments Alex's spirits lifted a little more after Alex read her message. "And I like you as my friend. We'll be okay, Raine. Maybe it won't be so bad. Well, I guess I should let you try to get some sleep. I know your mom will be prying you out of bed with the jaws of life tomorrow at dawn. ;) I guess I'll see you tomorrow. Try to get some sleep, Raine. Night." he sent the message and crawled into his bed. He fell asleep after a few minutes of staring at the ceiling and wondering if this was how most guys felt the night before their weddings.

message 41: by Tinker bell (new)

Tinker bell | 28345 comments Raine smiled a little at the way he was trying to take care of her," Yeah you got that right she's not been able to stop talking about all the things I have to do in the morning.. I will try to sleep and you should too, Alex. I'll see you tomorrow. We'll figure something out, we always do. Night Alex." She sent back getting back under the covers of her bed and closing her eyes. She felt a little better now that her and Alexander had talked. She sighed a little and closed her eyes thinking about what other girls would be feeling at this point on the night before their own wedding

message 42: by E.j. (new)

E.j. | 157 comments Alex slept the night through. It was some time around seven in the morning when he was shaken awake by his mother. She had a huge smile on her face, and her hair was in rollers. She was already getting ready for the wedding, which Alex found a little ridiculous considering the wedding wasn't until four o'clock that afternoon. "Morning, mom." Alex said groggily. "You look excited."
His mother's smile widened. "Of course I'm excited, and you should be too! My little boy's getting married!" she squealed with joy. "I've been up since five! You should get up and eat something, dear. There's an awful lot to be done, you know. Oh, I just can't believe you're getting married today! It seems like just yesterday your father and I agreed that you would one day wed Princess Raine. Aren't you happy we were looking out for you?" she asked. Alex wasn't listening to her though. He was up and out of his room before he could answer. As he walked down the grand hall and down the stairs to the kitchen for breakfast, he couldn't help but wonder what Raine was doing. If his mother was this excited, he knew Raine's must be going practically insane.

message 43: by Tinker bell (new)

Tinker bell | 28345 comments Raine slept peacefully through the night and at around six that next morning she was yanked out of her bed by her mom. "Mother." She groaned as she sat up and covered her face, "It's too early to do anything." She complained. Her mother shook her head," No you should be awake so we can get you fed and then it's off to get your nails done." Raine sighed and got up going into her bathroom as her mother droned on," Aren't you happy about today? I am and I'm sure Alex is. Oh just think in a few hours you will be walking down the aisle with your father. I'm so glad we decided that we had to look out for you the way our parents looked out for us." Raine shut the door on her mom and leaned back against the door. It was going to be a long day for her

message 44: by Tinker bell (new)

Tinker bell | 28345 comments ((Sorry my reply took so long I was making dinner))

E.j. | 157 comments ((That's completely fine! I had to go eat dinner.))

Alex ate slowly and went back into his room to get ready for the day. He found his phone was overrun with texts and missed calls from his groomsmen. Most of them were just last day of freedom jokes, so he put his phone down and went outside. The roses in his mother's garden were blooming. They were red and light pink scattered in a bush of green. Alex sat down on a bench and tried to gather his thoughts. After sitting there long enough to start feeling the sun burn on the back of his neck, he stood up, picked a perfect, bright red rose from the bush that had the most blooms on it and walked back across the lawn.

message 46: by Tinker bell (new)

Tinker bell | 28345 comments Raine took a long shower hoping to stay away from her mother long enough so she would tell at her. She got out and dressed in some comfortable clothes before going down to the kitchens to eat breakfast. She sighed softly when her mom walked through. She didn't even look at her phone knowing that all of her other friends would be texting her about the big day ahead

message 47: by E.j. (new)

E.j. | 157 comments Alex could feel the hours dragging by. At around ten in the morning, Alex had done all he could to avoid the preparations of the day. He'd showered, walked around outside, read most of a book, and even resorted to cleaning his room a little. At one, his father told him he should start getting ready. It would take at least an hour to get to the venue of the wedding, and Alex knew his mother would make them leave early. So, Alex fixed his hair, put on his tux, and checked his phone for messages about the wedding. When he came down stairs, his mother and father were sitting in the den dressed in their best clothes and waiting for him. He managed a small smile that even he felt must have looked false. "Are you ready to go, sweetie?" his mother asked beaming.
"Ready as I'll ever be." Alex said.

message 48: by Tinker bell (new)

Tinker bell | 28345 comments Raine couldn't get away from her mother even if she had tried. She sighed as her mother dragged her around to places to get her nails, hair, and makeup done. She looked at the clock and sighed thinking that the time couldn't go by any slower. Finally her mother said it was time to get into the car to go the the wedding venue. Now it was going to be another hour of her mom going on about how happy Raine should be that her parents had thought ahead for this day in her life

message 49: by E.j. (new)

E.j. | 157 comments Alex sat quietly in the car with his mother and father. His mother wouldn't stop rambling on and on, and his father was participating in his usual ritual of not really listening but nodding his head and saying 'yes, dear' every few sentences. Alex must have looked sickly because about thirty minutes into the drive, his mother smiled at him and said to her husband "Look at him, Johnathan, he must be nervous." But she said it in her 'talking about her sweet little baby boy' voice. It wasn't until the church was in sight that Alex started actually getting nervous.

message 50: by Tinker bell (new)

Tinker bell | 28345 comments Raine sat through most of the drive without really hearing her mother. The one thing she did remember to grab from her room was her phone and her headphones. She had one in he ear so she didn't really have to listen to what her mother and every once in a while her father would say. She kept her self calm until about three fourths of the way to the church. She paled a little and her brown eyes looked huge in her face. Her mother, Dottie, grabbed her father's hand," Oh look Garret, I think it's finally hit her." She meant the excitement, but Raine was just nervous now
