Internal/External Conflict

I have recently finished reading "The Outsiders" by S.E Hinton. In this book, I noticed an external conflict (obstacle outside of one's self) take place. When Two-Bit, Ponyboy, Johnny, Marcia, and Cherry get stopped by the Socs., there is an external conflict. Cherry and Bob start to fight with each other, suggesting that they are obstacles towards one another.
