RSS Feed issues

My RSS feed is importing pretty horribly. I think there is a combination of issues at work:

1) Content encoding (the XML feed is UTF-8, but special characters are getting screwed up)
2) Carriage returns are all over the place.

This appears to be the same problem Aaron is facing: utf-8 isn’t being interpreted correctly, even though utf-8 is the default encoding for XML documents.
