ABANDONED. Chick lit around 2000 - Newly single journalist has a one night stand with stranger who turns out to be her new boss

I read this book around 2000 i think. I have a feeling it came free with a magazine which may be why i can't seem to find it anywhere.

I think the general plot is about a girl who finds that her long term boyfriend has cheated on her (i think she walks in on him in bed with someone), she then makes some sort of pact (or bet??) with one of her best friends relating to how many one night stands they can have as she has never had one before. She has then has a one night stand at a hotel whilst she is meant to be reviewing it for work (i think) and then a few weeks later she realises that this person she slept with was her new boss - i have a feeling his name was Jack 'Jake' Daniels - it was a joke in the book. then a whole lot of mayhem ensues when she is invited to her ex-boyfriends wedding, the new boss thinks she is out of control due to the bet, she falls for her boss etc etc... can't remember any other details sorry

Any help would be gratefully received - I am feeling in the mood for some nostalgic reading from my late teens and really want to read this book again.
