I'd like to read Anna Karenina and Birdsong someday possibly .
I've read 29 and parts of some others. Of course, I've had more years to work on it than most of you.
It was nice going back and looking at this one.. I was at 9, and 8 months later am at 18, with #19 queued up next on my kindle. Our challenges are good for helping with this list.
I've read 21, but not many of the remainder are on my TBR. Classics used to be an addiction, but for the past year or so, I've been all about new books, the newer the better, and if it's by debut authors even better still.
I've only read 8. Another one, Pride and Prejudice, I abandoned. Most of the others I have on my TBR list.
I have read 34 - the Bible is one of them, King James version and not read as a Christian but as a historian.4 are on my TBR list.
Read 20, have three more owned, am currently reading one and have plans to read a few more (Grapes of Wrath at least)
I have read 28. I didn't count The Bible or Canterbury Tales even though I have probably read most of both, just not all. It is an interesting list. I saw 1 or 2 I wasn't familiar with & 1 or 2 that I told myself " Shame on you!" Working to correct that since some of them overlap with another challenge. Thanks for sharing!
Have completely read 16 of them, but there are several others I have read partially like Lord of the Rings, Pullman's novels, etc. And of course, the Bible is not one book, but it's actually a whole library of books divided into sections like the Law, Wisdom literature, Gospels, Letters, etc., and I have read some of the individual books, but not all of them.
Unfortunately many books on all "THE" lists are period pieces. Makes them difficult sometimes. Must remember history, & appreciate accordingly.
I read Catch 22 and really didn't like it. I didn't think it was funny at all. There were also some very dark parts when the Allies entered Rome at the end of the war.

I might try and pick it up again in a few years but for now it's living on my DNF shelf.

I've attempted to read a couple of the others, and a couple of the books were read in part in either HS or college.
I'll never complete a 'best ever' list, because I've tried Ulysses twice over the years and just can't stand it.
